That's insane!!! Is there any uniformity to what's breaking or how? All elockers? All set up at home? All 4.56s or on overloaded trucks? All getting crazy on the skinny pedal?

I'm trying to gleen any information I can from yalls experience. I've blown a rear diff wheeling when I wasn't prepared. It sucks. I don't wanna do it again and I hope nobody else ever has to either. It gets expensive quickly and ruins a trip

It's NOT just Toyota 8" R&Ps. It's all R&Ps in Moab. I've blown a diff up myself on a TJ years ago there. It's INSANE traction combined w/ a locker. If you have a selectable, turn it off until you need it. If it's an auto locker, use a light foot when making sharp turns on the slick rock. Everyone should be using a light foot on the slick rock regardless. It's Moab, it's known to blow up everything. It's because you're driving on 18 grit sandpaper. You know in the owner's manual where it says not to use 4WD on dry, paved surfaces for extended periods?

Finished the White Rim Trail today.

It is listed a 4 but most of it is a 3 at best.

I was simply blown away by the views. This trail head easily the best scenery I've ever seen on a trail in my life.

No permit is required for a day drive.

We left BFE at 6:45, town by 7 and got to the Canyonlands "Island In The Sky Visitors Center" at by 8. Paid for our day use fees, checked out the maps and used the head. Started the Offical White Rim Trail by 8:30.

Did i mention that many people say this is a 2 day trail?

We made it to the end of the offical trail by 4:30pm and back into Moab by 5:30pm.

Although we drove pretty fast, I'm sure it was slower than most on this forum.

I highly recommend checking out the White Rim Trail!

I don't wanna be an ass, but that was very poor decision to romp it up the hill. He had a rear locker. Every one just climbed up but he romped it and bounced it up like crazy. When he landed he actually inverted a shackle and Jammed up the leafs. The spindle broke right where it meets the UCA.

It's not being an ass if that's what happened. Kinda important to know how shit breaks. Even if its a lack of judgment and self control.

I've got an ex-wife for the same reason.. Shit happens

Update. Top of the World today claimed 2 long bed driveshafts, and has catastrophically grenaded my front passenger wheel bearing. Currently limping to BFE at 25mph and hazards on, in 4hi to keep torque on it.

If ANYBODY has a 2nd Gen from bearing out here, I'll PayPal you for it so I can go wheeling tomorrow. Couple shops in town have presses.

Also, and good driveline shops in Grand Junction? Need two of them retubed.
