Not to undermine ECGS but you can fab up a puller with a bunch grinder and some basic hardware. I am reluctant to foward mine because the first bushing failed due to a incorrect install and I have a habit of holding o to tools. A tip on the install tho, be sure the correct driver is used, not "close enough" but just right.

Anyone else have an extra puller tool they wanna pay forward or even sell? Instantly got the notorious growl only after an 1.5" of lift. Any help is appreciated!

How long did it take for your bushing to go out? I've had my installed for about 20k miles on the factory cv due to the fact it looked and felt fine. The growl was gone for a long time but about 4k miles ago it seems worse than before. Wondering if it just might be the cv or I might have installed it wrong....or both. Did ECGs send you another one or did you pay for it?

Not to jack this question but I'd like to know more about this as well along with the symptoms (aside from the initial vibration) that turned you onto thinking the install was done improperly.

Ok so something else i noticed yesterday. My vibration/growling starts at about 50 and continues on through 65 mph which is mostly what i drive since I'm on the highway so much. Well yesterday while mowing some lawns i noticed that with the trailer and lawn mower on the truck the vibration and growling sound were almost gone. I guess because its maybe letting some pressure of that CV and bushing??

but to answer the question, i installed the bushing myself and I'm in no way a mechanic. Knowing the luck i have more than likely i installed it wrong which is causing the vibration/growling to come back after.

Everything you just said points to it not being the bushing. Those speeds aren't correct and adding a trailer would make it worse because that would raise the front end and increase the CV Angles. Sounds more like a wheel bearing especially when you add the trailer which will raise the front a little taking some of the weight off the front wheels.

Yea, that doesn't sound like the bushing. While driving at your posted speeds, turn left and right to load/unload each wheel bearing. The bad one will growl when loaded. Then quiet when unloaded.

If the wheel bearing is bad shouldn't there be some play in it?

That's kinda what I was thinking. Just after reading some more I started to question if I installed it correctly.

yes. You are hearing the play in the sound of the growling noise. Early indication of wear out. Just take it to a shop.

So took a 6 hr trip to whiskeytown and noticed the vibrations seem to always occur when giving gas. Is that normal? I have my part coming in today and might install tomorrow but just curious if this is normal.

Truck has been having some slight vibrations under breaking and highway speed. Jacked it up over the weekend and noticed some growling coming from where the CV goes into the Diff along with some play in the bearing... Needless to say just ordered the whole kit to replace it. Thank you East Coast Gear for the fix on this.
