Center bearing and U joints

    I have done a lot of research and came up with the part numbers from spicer (dana) and that is who makes the driveline on our trucks. The parts even say Toyota on them. Now you can get them for a fraction of the cost of what the dealer sells them. I will list the exact parts I bought and they do fit perfectly. Pretty much any 1330 series parts from Dana works for 2005+.

    From what I've heard, Dana became the OEM supplier for Tacoma driveline parts in 2005. These parts may not fit on 1st-gens. Can you be more specific? Are u-joints and center bearings an exception?

    Sorry I should have specified. The ones listed are for second gens. The first gens use spicer 1310 series.

    Amazon is stupid. It says they don't fit but I bought the same exact ones and they fit. I got the numbers from Dana's website and by measuring

    Rock Auto carries it too but you won't see it listed under the Tacoma. You can find it if you search manually or lookup a Ford truck. I don't know why automotive application guides don't show it listed for 2nd gen Tacomas

    Spicer 5-1330-1X is pretty much the same as the factory U-joint.

    I'm deep in the throes of research for a U-Joint and Center Bearing job. I'm hoping that the part #'s for the first gens are correct, because that would save me a nice chunk of change on the parts purchase.

    only way to verify is to contact the suppliers or someone who has first hand knowledge installing them on his truck

    So. After running around town asking for answers on types of u joints, I have returned with this: The first Gen guys have a "Toyota Series" u joint, with a cap O.D. of 1.142" and width of 2.047".

    There aren't many options..
    MOOG 387 Greasable -

    Spicer 5-1510X Non Greasable -
    $30 Spicer 5-1510X U-Joint Kit

    There are a few other u joints available, but Spicer and MOOG are the top tier brands in my book.

    I'm gonna take a little risk and just buy the Spicer 211750-1X center bearing. If it's wrong, I'll just return it and buy the OEM from Toyota of Dallas parts.

    Update: Just as I was about to click the "Place Order" button for the center bearing, I noticed that it "Usually ships in about 1-2 MONTHS".

    I went with Toyota of Dallas, and already have my part.
