I'd say so..if memory serves me correctly I think the last team in the west to win both the Presidents Trophy and the Stanley Cup was none other than The Detroit Red Wings. Last back to back too I believe.?

edit: Last LA vs Det game I went to was early 90's and Thomas Sandstrom suffered a broken jaw after being hit with the puck. Never seen so much blood on the ice before or since then.

That guy was tough, he also suffered a broken leg a year or two before that.
