is there a code on the door tag or somewhere that tells you if your truck has VSC or not?

I got the same year and don't know myself. All I know is I know I have anti-lock brakes.

well when you go to buy brake parts they all want to know this and im like :notsure: :notsure: :notsure:

and if you don't have it your rotors are 22mm smaller and use different pads as well

    VSC rotors = 319mm
    non VSC rotors = 297mm

Yeah it was a rare option for 1st Gen Tacomas, but was on the 01-02 4Runners as a test bed as well. Since they use the same parts I think they just lumped them together (much like the internals)

taken from CustomTacos (gotta love Enola Gaia)

"VSC was available on '04 V6 PreRunnerDouble Cabs (and only on V6's). It was an option, not standard equipment. You'll need to check your sales tag to see if it was installed on your DC."

I would agree, I have an '04 TRD 4 x 4 V6. I've not seen anywhere that I have it on that truck. I do have it on the Tundra.

easiest way is to measure your rotor. the VSC had a larger 12.x" and the non-VSC had about 11.7" (if memory serves)

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Glad mine doesn't have VSC, I absolutely loathed it on my 2011 having to turn it off every time I drove someplace in the winter. I hate traction control period, I find it unnecessary. VSC is for people that don't know how to drive.
