Cleaned up the shed this afternoon after sitting in the mister got boring, and unearthed some true summer treasures in there:

    HORSESHOES!

    CROQUET!!

    BADMINTON!!!

This calls for a block party. Too bad you TW folks don't live in Oregon, gonna be a good time!! I love having cool neighbors. Even the RAM guy, he pisses me off sometimes but overall he's pretty cool. Freaking hilarious too. The MOST un-politically correct person you would ever meet, period. Constantly ridiculously overly pissed about some silly little thing, screams LOUD at cars driving too fast on our street kinda stuff. But never gets pissed at any of us, and in fact is quite loyal/protective towards our tight knit little neighborhood, so I've given him the handle of SHERIFF and told him I'm getting him a badge because he likes policing the scene while he rolls around here in his GIANT RAM truck: :quickdraw:

Man I love that little emoticon guy!! :quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw::quickdraw:

the truck has gone swimming...every time the axle goes under water, it needs to be drained and refilled. As for the plastic headlights, I find that rubbing compound does just as good of a job, and I have it on the shelf.

It rained last night. :D I would have been so pissed  if it didn't, after deciding to delay painting the topper yesterday when it was such a hot, dry, beautiful day, all because of the iffy forecast. Looks like it's not happening til Thurs at the earliest, based on the crappy rainy forecast the next few days :(

Guess I'll be stuck inside doing some summer adventure planning. Oh darn. :)

I'm going to find the secret stash of gold nuggets that @Dirty Pool missed at the Lost Blue Bucket Mine ;)

You guys really think we should change it out again soon? We plan to do another long trip with lots of rough dirt road driving the week of Labor Day. Eric was thinking of doing it again after that, knowing everything will get filthy then....

yep go have fun then change the fluid again after doing this mod: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-differential-breather-extension.15223/

im not going up as high as they do in the mod with mine but I will mount it to the top of the frame rail to get another 8-10" of high water clearance for it. I figure if the water gets up that high im sitting in water inside the cap so the truck is toasted anyways lol. :bananadead:

plus I don't want to drill holes in my gas filler shield.

on my old silverados they just bolted it to the underside of the beds so that's what im looking to replicate when I do it.

as to the oil, there is always some that is trapped in places that cant drain all the way like behind the bearings so there will be pockets of milky water contaminated fluid that mix in with the fresh stuff so when you change it again it will just look dirty instead of milky like the first time but it needs to be redone to remove all that old contaminated fluid from it.

Granddaughter is doing great now. She is putting on the weight fast and is SO much healthier. I can't say enough about the doctors that were just so great with her.
As for my Taco, I haven't had a lot of time to do much to her. I have a whole stack of parts yet to install, I just don't have the time to do it all! Haha. Going back I know it all sucks and everything, but it was kind of funny that one of the very first things I mentioned was the injectors. I had hoped that when they did the cleaning and all that it was no longer an issue. Happy to see the truck out and about though!

Glad she's doing well Bama!! That is great news! : )

Yep, I remember you felt sure it was a fuel issue initially from the way it sounded when it was cranking. I have definitely learned an incredible amount of stuff about the Taco from all of you guys, thanks for the free education! : )

That reminds me.........remember when I asked you when summer break was coming, because I was ready for it? Check it out, didn't think it'd ever happen, but I finally got that summer break!! It's been so cool learning about all this stuff, but it's also nice to take a break from learning the tough stuff and instead worry about easy/ fun stuff for a while, like where to go next, or what paint color to choose!! :)

We get to do a 9 day trip somewhere in early September. I can't wait, I am sooooooooo excited about it!! Thinking we'll explore a couple of different areas of eastern Oregon, some we already know and love, and some that will be new and exciting and a little bit scary/off the beaten path to get that "adventure" part in!! My painting the topper plans got rained out but at least I get to work on planning the Taco's next big adventure during the next few days of rain :)

What a happy turn this often depressing thread took, huh? :woot:

This will be one of our old favorite destinations on the Taco's Eastern Oregon Toyota Tour September 2015. Lovely drive up a pretty rough road, then a grueling hike up, up, up, up, up, huff, puff, up, up, up, up, question whether to give up, up, up, up, up, then suddenly the dense forest opens up into giant rolling meadows covered in wildflowers, surrounded by giant snow capped mountains with crystal clear streams of melting snow running down their nooks and crannies, and you feel like you are in the Swiss Alps. Not kidding. So freaking beautiful up there. Then you go up, up, up some more, and pretty soon you get to this alpine lake that is surrounded by the resident mountain goats. Last year was our 2nd time doing this hike. First time we only got to see a handful of goats at a pretty far distance, I think because we gave up ~1/2 mile before the lake. Last year we made it all the way to the lake, and the shoreline was COVERED in mountain goats!! They basically walked right up to us and put on this show, while the baby stood there and watched in amazement. There were probably 50 more surrounding us when we took this photo. Coolest thing/place I've ever seen. They started scrapping a bit right after this was snapped:
