    We got caught up in the roll over traffic blockage on Wednesday morning. Sad to see such a nice truck in this state. Glad everyone was ok. We pushed through after the porta potty truck came through and missed the full recovery. On to run Kane Creek.

    Mystery non-breakage on Potato Salad Hill:



    Pulled down the front end yesterday. Birfs are fine. Hubs are fine. R&P are fine. E-locker clutch is fine.

    Maybe I was a dickhead and didn't wait for my front elocker to fully engage. Maybe one of the hubs wasn't fully engaged. No idea.

    After this I pulled a hub and it looked ok. So I took the line to the right and failed. Aired down to 9 psi and with a spot from Monst walked up it.

    Next year we should organize a bit better and get all the SFA rigs onto some technical runs together.

    I actually would like to see some extra columns on the trail sign up sheets. Maybe tick boxes next to the name for things like lockers etc. Just to help match up the rigs in the group.

    Obviously open diffed rigs take a little more finness and spotting on the obstacles. So they travel at a different speed.

    Similarly the long travel rigs eat up the rough miles much quicker than us limited up-travel crawlers who have to go a bit slower.

    Sometimes it's good to have a mixed group. Sometimes it's good to all be similarly equipped.

    It would be good to be able to make that call at sign up time.

    I think it's always a good idea to have someone on the trail that can complete the trail repairs needed, for the type of group that's on the trail. Also having people with spare parts with similar builds helps a lot.

    Good idea. We wheeled with mostly the same group of people for this reason. Knowing you fellow drivers capability and rigs helps gauge things as well as spotter trust.

    I was not at the dunes. You all were heading out as we were heading back into town. My midgets were getting super tired and cranky. But I should be out there next year.
