Hi guys, I just bought a cobra 75WX and planning on getting the Yaesu(not sure on model) and I wanted to know if anyone has attempted to install both devices in one shot and not have any issues. I seen cb & ham installs but done in different instances. I'm trying to learn from everyone else's experiences and avoid futures problems and not have to redo everything more than once which always ends up happening to me. If anyone has links please post them, and if there is any tips or tricks please do tell. Thank you

Personally, I would install one or the other. I have will be putting a HAM radio in my truck in the next couple of weeks. The issue your going to have is antenna location. They need to be a minimum of 24" apart. The power that the HAM radio can put out could possibly damage the CB. Possible ideas for atenna locations HAM roof mounted with CB on trucb bed somewhere. You can do a front fender antenna mount if you do not want to cut a hole in your roof. Just put one antenna there and another on the truck bed. You can buy a headache rack and mount each antenna on either side.

What setup are you going with?

The problem with installing one is not everyone is a ham and on certain trails the majority of guys have cb's. I have a shell so I'm limited to a few spots. I was hoping I can get away with mounting the cb antenna on the hood and ham on roof top but that's in theory, will it work I don't know. B4 I start tearing up my seats out I want to double check if this process has been covered. I'm gonna continue my research and hopefully I can find a solution.

I've done both, just not at the same time. I'm running my cb antenna behind the cab on the driver's side. My HAM antenna is on the same side but near the tailgate. My cb has not been killed by the HAM radio setup. Get some good coax for each too. I'm no expert, but my setup has been working well for me for a few months now.

What install guide did you use, did you run into problems, which device was installed first?

Was it a hassle to do both one after another? What do you think of doing both in one shot?

I will be installing a Yaesu FT-8800R. I bought a headache rack. I decided not to put a hole in the roof.

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
There are a bunch of CB and HAM installs on here. Not being a dick, but use the search. There are a lot of pretty slick people on here who have done some cool stuff.

I agree, the installs on here are excellent but I haven't been able to find an install of both devices at the same time without any issues. Thanks for the help
