What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Put on some 1.25 inch wheel spacers on today and removed the husky liner mud flaps. Bought them off a guy on craigslist for $50 with 3 broken studs that he had on an FJ. Definitely a steal. My build thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/djnieres-build-thread.376244/

 

I hate when companies do this. They know we'll still bypass it, just makes it more of a PITA.

 

its all the same stuff really, the thinkness is really the only thing that matters. buy it.

 

I used some 80mil thickness in the back. Will the 50 mil be too thin compared or should it be fine?

I mocked up under hood lighting using some scrap bits I had laying around the house. The Pin switch I had to order. Wal Mart, Radio Shack, and four auto parts stores all failed to have a pin switch in stock. Now I just need to get some good double sided tape and replace the blue painters tape that's currently holding the lights up.

I'll add a "dark" photo once the sun actually goes down, in about three hours.

I changed the front diff, tranny and transfer case gear oils today and painted the skid plates. It was fun.

I modified a storage trunk into a tool box for the bed. All locks use the same key so I never have to guess. Very easy modification. Install U bolts onto the side of the trunk, run a cable lock through the U bolt and D rings on the bed, add some tie downs to stop it from moving.

 

Towed my best friend's S2000 from San Diego to Las Vegas

 

Replaced the blown out front 5100 and installed my Toytec springs finally.

 

Today I did my front lift!

Finally, the complete lift is on the truck!

$27 3M Automotive Attachment Tape, 06376, Gray, 1/4 in x 20 yd, 30 mil

3M Scotch Automotive Attachment Tape. I purchased a roll to replace the tape on my WeatherTech wind/rain deflectors after years of SoCal sun dried up the OEM tape. It also came in handy when I botched the lower gasket on KB Voodoo's Powder Coated Tailgate Cap System. I installed the lower gasket too low so I removed the gasket, cleaned up the tape residue and used my 3M tape to reinstall the gasket higher so it doesn't show under the tailgate cap. Very sticky tape specifically for sticking "things" to your vehicle.
