How tall are you?

 

5'8" the Large is a little tall for me.

 

With a short stem you'd be living large on this baby. Something like 50mm and 0° rise.

What year is the frame? Components? It looks mint in the pictures.

 

I forget what year it is, but it's a newer model because it has shaped tubes (the old Epiphany's had straight tubes).

Brand new powder coat on rear triangle and cranks. Color of triangle is "smoked chrome".

Rear shock has been tuned by Push Industries specifically for this frame. Front fork is an X-Fusion Velvet RL2 DLA, 140mm travel, with lockout and adjustable travel. Very smooth fork.

Sun Ringle Black Flag wheelset with gold hubs.

Chris King headset.

SDG I-Beam seat and post.

SRAM X.0 rear derailleur with 1x9 drivetrain, chosen for reliability and strength (10 speed chains break too easily).

30 tooth front chainring to enable climbing of any hill.

Hayes Prime brakes. One finger braking anytime, anywhere.

MRP chainguide to keep everything in check.

Bike weighs around 25 pounds.

 

Rad bike and a great deal, a couple of notes :

1. Ellsworth is a rad local San Diego company and that bike was hand made by U.S. Craftsman right here in SoCal, buy handmade US bikes !

2. Ellsworth does not do year models, unlike most other bike co's updating bikes constantly with no real advancements they only make updates as needed which can be 2 years apart or 6 months apart. so model gens vs year models.

3. The question about size, if it is for XC riding a lot of people can and should ride a large, look at the pro ranks all those guys over 5-8" ride large frames. The cockpit is not much longer at all so the shorter stem recommendation is a good one and gives you any better steering feel. Larger frame gives you Cadillac feel and the shorter stem keep the steering snappy.

4. The color matched rear triangle is a very cool custom and super rare feature. All Ellsworth's have a black rear triangle, only factory riders and employees get that OE.
