This is one of those days I call "sunny Taco days" - my favorite kind. You can have a sunny Taco day anywhere you live TW!! : )

Exactly right!! We are always on the lookout for hikes like that. We seem to always have at least one dog at any given time that is a senior and can't do crazy stuff.

Or at least that's my convenient excuse when I let myself get out of shape and am too lazy to do some of the more demanding hikes offered throughout the NW :D

One option is this popular lake with great views of Mt Hood.

Or, you could do what we did and snap the obligatory photo while driving by, then head up to the good stuff - the off the beaten path stuff, since you are in a Taco and all ;) and leave those otha fools behind :D

And if you're at the coast, may as well watch the sunset, have a fire on the beach, and check out the moon too...

Let's do this!!! We'd totally be up for grabbing a beer with some TW folks :D Oooh, I can show off my new paint job on the topper to fellow Taco fans, IN PERSON! uh oh, pressure's on  Did I mention I have ZERO experience detailing? :D

We have a couple of trips over there planned already for this summer. 4th of July weekend, and THE WHOLE WEEK OF LABOR DAY. 9 days straight of nothing but time to play ANYWHERE we want in eastern Oregon. Cannot wait. Probably spending a good chunk of that in SE but kicking it off in NE for sure!! 4th is gonna be a super short trip, gotta get my Haines fix and why not do it at rodeo time! Thinking we'll squeeze in mt goats then too : )

Just driving to the store in Baker county is a treat, especially in a Taco : )

I've tried to set one up several times, but it's like herding cats getting everyone together. Usually ends up being me and one other rig.

I hear ya. I can totally see how that would happen realistically. People's plans change or whatever, and it doesn't pan out. We should talk about it more and think on it, to see if we can come up with something that would ACTUALLY work for a handful of people to get together!

I should probably mention though, while we are totally into using and abusing the Taco to a certain point to get where we want to go, our goal is not to beat the piss out of it just for the sake of doing so. It takes it's licks when we need to drive something rough to get to some incredible spot, but you know what I'm saying.........we're not into seeking out the most extreme rock face to drive sideways up, or purposely getting stuck in mud to test it out.......although we are not afraid to get her dirty and a little banged up :mudding::burnrubber::D

I know what you mean. There are no tow trucks to call even if you could get a signal out here. Breaking down sucks. We usually camp somewhere cool, run a few two tracks and explore some, but the rig is just a tool to get you to cool places.

EXACTLY!! You don't wanna break down basically anywhere in the eastern half of Oregon, some areas more than others. I've taken to insisting that we roll with SOOOO much water that I think we need to spend $ on new shocks to handle the extra weight

This is somewhere I've wanted to try eating many times. We always have the whole "too hot in the Taco for the 4 legged kid" problem when we cruise through here. :(

That store is so freaking cool. It's like a museum! Totally worth checking out if you are in the area and haven't been there yet.
