Leather conditioning

Hey guys and gals. For those of you with leather installed in your tacos I am wondering how often you should condition the leather. I have Katzkins specifically and would like to know your thoughts on it.

 

I do it every month or so, might be more than necessary. Actually just got some meguiars stuff this week, switching from crappy armor all wipes

 

Modern leathers do not require a leather conditioner. All of them have what is essentially a "clear coat" of plastic over them (if they are even real leather, most are actually a synthetic leather, even in high end cars). When you use conditioners on them, all you're doing is covering them with a layer of liquid that will attract dust and dirt. Wipe them down with a warm damp rag and then use something like Aerospace 303 to protect it.

The Katzkin site says do not use any type of leather conditioner. Just wipe with warm water and if needed, a mild soap to clean. They are permanently conditioned during manufacturing. I was told by Katzkin using a conditioning product would void the warranty and could discolor the leather. They recently however, approved the Mothers Cream. The info is on their site
