That's kind've cool. Why would this not work on an 05-11 model Tacoma? Should be pretty much identical.

Any idea on how this is wired up?

Nope- no instructions for the Tacoma. And I emailed them on their email link and it kicked back as unusable.

There's no switch- it says it comes on if you turn on the cargo bed light, open a door, or use the remote to unlock.
I'd hate to install it in the Tacoma to find it only comes on when my door is left open and turns off when shut. Sometimes I'd want my doors shut in the rain or if it's buggy while I'm loading up the bed.

Hmm interesting. I like that it looks OEM. Looks like you're going to have drill a hole to run the wires through.

I'm wondering about a switch or something to keep them on/off instead of them coming on when the doors open, etc.

A Mercury switch would work great mounted internal in the tailgate. Very easy tasteful mod.

Nice light. Would love to see how bright it is.

Just use a tailgate/door pressure switch on the tailgate or a on/off switch in the bed.

to expensive for one little light.

I added a 12v socket, a big 10AWG wire full LED strips along the entire bed rails and pigtail for my accessories and its always hot for less than that price

I wish I knew how to wire stuff... I'd wire it into my "hot" wire on the hitch, put a pressure switch on the gate and be done.

I have the 5050s under the bed rails all around. About 2 weeks ago they quit working with the exception of 2" right at the front of the strand. I am going to replace with 2 8" submersible Shoreline LED strips mounted under the rails. I will start with just the drivers side for now.

Hey OP, thanks for finding this kit. Bit the bullet and ordered one. Not a fan of putting LED strips under the rail. I know it's not OEM but it does look like it once installed. Reminds me of the ones in the new F150.

I'll update this thread when I get the kit.

Thinking of going with 2 switches, 1 in the cab and 1 in the bed.

Found this that can fit the center console.

LED strips are nice, I have both white and red along the bedrails, but the dang things keep coming loose. I put double sided tape on with the initial install and they still come loose here and there. Now, when I see a loose spot I silicone caulk it and that seems to work well. It doesn't dry out like the original adhesive and doubleside tape.

With the Tacoma there are also spots on the bedrails where you can fit a ziptie through to keep the striplights intact.
