TIRE SIZE QUESTION 265/75's

I know from using the search button, that 265/75's are a nice upgrade from the 70 series stock tires.
I am swapping the stock Rugged Fails, for BFG AT's. I am not sure whether to get the 70's or 75 series. This truck will be used mostly on the highway, weekend off roading, and towing a 12' 2700# folding camper. My current 4 cyl tows this camper in 5th. The new truck is the V6 Auto. I am wondering, for those that have changed tire size, has the taller gearing caused any laboring in top gear? Will going up one size (aspect ratio actually...) mean I cannot tow the camper in 5th? Where I live it's the terrain is flat, no hills. Also I don't feel like debating the merits of towing in 5th..... It saves gas, let's leave it at that.

 

If you are not going to add a lift and are using it on the highway most of the time with the I4 I would stay with the 70 bro.

 

No lift, everything else will remain stock.

 

Well here is mine with the 3" OME lift & 265/75/16. I know some guys are running them stock but I would still stay with the 70.

I too have a 3" lift and i'm running 265/75/16's...no problems here! Thought about 285's but I guess I really don't really need that extra 1/2"...Key thing to remember is "Wheel Placement"

 

Anyhow.....I went with the 70's, as the 75's weren't available in All-Terrains except in load range E. As it is, the 70's are LR-D. Overkill, but still "winter rated", and not too stiff.
