As I continue to try to justify spending hard earned cash for a lift for my 2WD Pre-runner, I am curious as to what other 2WD owners have done in terms of lifting their truck. For me, it's a lift to improve the aesthetics of the truck. I don't go to the mall so I guess it won't be a mall crawler. I won't be doing any off-roading either. So am I crazy to want to put a little 2.5-3" lift on and some more aggressive looking tires? So for you 2WD owners that did just this, tell me what lift kit and tires you chose and if you are happy with the decision. Of course your lifted truck porn is always welcome.

I'm still most likely getting a prerunner instead of a 4x4 and I wouldn't fell wrong at all about putting a 6'' lift on it. Lol Purely for looks that it. Even if I had a 4x4 I dought I would off road it any more than going down my driveway so whats the point for people like that? You could use the money you saved getting a prerunner instead of a 4x4 to buy the actual lift too. Lol

    Spindles/5100's = 4" lift.

I have a 4x2 prerunner, and honestly, the aggressive look of my truck came from the aftermarket wheels and tires. The lift helps, but 3" doesn't change the overall look too much... I have the Pro Comp lift that's only like $450, matched with ATX teflon Thug wheels and 33" BFG KMs.

This shows how the 4.5" backspacing pushes the tires out for a more aggressive stance...

I have billies in front set at 1.75" and 265/75r16 bfg all terrains. Even if you had a 4x4 a lift really wouldn't do much. Lifts for tacomas are mainly for looks. I'm going to get Camburg allied spindles and an aal in the back eventually

I have a PreRunner with the Toytec Ultimate Lift and some Total Choas UCAs, and love it. I went with some 285/60/18 tires.

I am in the same boat. I am in the process right now of trying to figure out what lift I should get. I have a 07 TRD SPORT DC 2WD Prerunner and wanting a 3-4" lift with 33's. So your not crazy for wanting to lift your truck!
