I recently bought a Jetboil & some Columbia quick dry hiking pants that have zippers to make them into shorts.

It rolls up to the size of a standard camping chair. Really sturdy too. I had been looking for something low enough to use with the Flexlite chairs. The top is a really good size. Plenty of room for 2 people to eat or maybe 4 people to play cards at. Adjustable height also.

My wife wants one of those chairs for our John Muir Trail hike in August. I told her that it's her 4# to carry, not mine. I have a perfectly good bear canister to use as a stool, or a 2x3' small tarp to sit on the ground with.

Yes sir it does. I'm taking the 450 this time though. It's only 5 days and I can make it work.

What's the menu? You buy your food, or pre make/pre package your own?

For our upcoming backpacking trip, my lady & I purchased a few packets of Mountain House dehydrated food. We'll also bring some food from home & trail mix etc

Right now it's a mixture of dehydrated pre-bought meals and some other dried bulk foods we will be putting in food saver bags by portion. We're experimenting with dried potatoes, eggs, milk, etc. We are also going to use trail mixes with nuts/fruits/carbs/jerky during the day and save the hot meals for dinner mostly. If I can get some good powdered egg mixes, I'll be doing either hot oatmeal or eggs for breakfast or else cold protein bars.

I'll also be trout fishing every day once we stop hiking and set up camp. I plan to use a trout or two a day to supplement my protein. She doesn't want to have anything to do with eating fresh trout, but I think I can show her the light.

I wanted to buy a nice dehydrator, but the wifey vetoed it and didn't think it was necessary. I tend to agree with her. After this trip, we'll probably see more of a benefit to it in the future.
