What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Washed my truck so I can get my frame inspected today. My baby is going to the stealership to have them inspect the frame for rust that is in a recall or something for my vin number. Also I have an appointment to talk to the dealership manager to hopefully get them to replace my leaf springs. They are noises and creak like crazy even driving down a dirt road to go fishing with nothing in the back. So wish me luck.

 

I have a 2005 4x4 access cab and live in dirty salt land Jersey. My frame failed so it's being replaced, but is still drive able.

They probably won't do anything for your leafs. You can add some rubber buffers or similar in between them yourself to stop the noise

 

I know they probably won't replace them but it's worth complaining about since there is A recall on them. The leafs are bent down like a sad face. Glad they will replace your frame though. So far I love my tacoma but seems like Toyota always has a recall.

 

Oil change, greased my driveshafts, rotated my tires and finally installed my rear diff breather mod. Got lucky on one of my tires, has a 1.5" nail going on sideways on an outer treadblock but didn't puncture thankfully.

 

Installed my Undercover Flex, as well as one of my swing out gear boxes (wrong bracket with the drivers side, have to send it back)

Still need to do clean up, and I am going to move the drain tubes. Drilled out the stock drain holes to fit them, but I'm going to drop new holes so the tubes go straight down through the bed.

The seal hangs over the bulkhead some because I got the stick on bulkhead seal too close (should have lined everything up BEFORE sticking that on), but it still has a good seal. Not worried about it right now, KB Voodoo bedside and tailgate cap system on the way, so will reinstall then and will get a better seal on the flat bed caps

 

Did the video bypass mod on my NEX-7100 stereo.. that's about it lately.

 

How do you do that mod?

 

I installed a Clearview Rearview today and washed/waxed/vacuumed my truck.

Is it just bigger? Not sure what I'm looking at.

 

It moved the mirror two or so inches closer to the ceiling. out of the middle of the windshield.

I also picked up six cans of black Plastidip. my wheels, badges, and a few parts of the front of my truck are about to get a makeover.

Nice! I love my flex. How much did that swing box cost you? Looks very interesting and would replace my rubbermaid tub thats just sliding around back there with gear

 

They run for 400 bucks on auto anything for a pair. I've been looking at replacing my Rubbermaid tub aswell
