My 2013 Tacoma dash screen is almost impossible to read in the daytime unless its a very dull day or I'm in a shadow.I have tried to adjust it ,my dealer tried to adjust it. Apparently it is at it brightest. This is annoying and a safety hazard.
Anybody out there have this problem. Any solutions?

    Thanks Dave

Do you drive with your running lights on or something? Your headlight stalk has 4 positions, in the day time it should be in the first (off) or second (front DRLs on). Third (front DRLs, tail lights on) causes the display to dim, as does the fourth (headlights on).

Mine is plenty bright, I believe there's also brightness adjustments in the Setup area but I imagine you've done that already, or the dealer has. I'd hesitate to say it's faulty, and would assume instead it just doesn't mesh with your vision very well - and then suggest an aftermarket head unit to replace it.

Or you could try a sun shade for the head unit, so what illumination that is there is for all intensive purposes, brighter (compared to the surrounding ambient light).

If none of that has worked, I don't think you'll be happy with it.

Safety hazard? Not sure about that.. all it does is display your radio settings and phone call settings if you have your phone connected. Nothing that has to do with your vehicle safety systems or otherwise cause a safety issue, unless you're messing with the head unit while the vehicle is moving, in which case any radio is a safety hazard.

It has a Day and Night setting, push the setup button and reverse the setting to day time and you will be good to go.

Tinting my front windows helped some with how well I can see the display. Not a huge difference but a difference.

Ya, I would think if this doesn't solve the issue than you have a bad unit.
