Ok possible deal breaker- I'm trying to have my Supercharger from Toyota of Dallas installed st purchase to get the full warranty. They are trying to tell me I only qualified for the 12 months parts warranty and I only get the 2 year power train warranty if I bought it from them and installed. Am I crazy or is that BS?

Plus they quoted me $1400 for install after I told them Toyota of Concord quoted me $1100 for install and would just honor the rest of my powertrain (had like 2 1/2 years left)

 

I wouldn't extend my normal warranty for parts on parts that are customer supplied, even if they were both from the same distributor. So, not sure of their specific reasoning behind that warranty ding, but to some extent it makes sense to me.

 

Do you have a quote on paper?

 

Not anymore, that was a good 6 months ago and I was getting quotes from all around

 

I had walnut creek say $1800 install, Toyota of Fairfield said $2500 install, flat fee....so Concord was hands down the best. Haven't really checked since then though.

 

I want the new 2016 Tacoma but not having car payments is so nice.

Has anyone seen this on the Facebook Tacoma group and going?

I've never heard anyone on the highlander forum describe it quite like that. :lol: Actually, they tend to complain about the weak cooling of the seats since it circulates the warm air in the cabin. But then they complain about a lot of things.

 

from what i remember when i sold Toyota parts this sounds right. Most parts have a 1/yr warranty IE brake pads and whatnot besides electrical. I know when i sold three of the superchargers, i sold them on having it installed in house to maintain the TRD warranty.

The problem comes when people who arent informed or who honestly dont know the TRD warranty or Toyota parts warranty policy. I always had a bunch yell at me about their 84 month TruStart warranty. The pamphlet is right there for the battery, read it lol
