I did a bunch of homework last year on the major brands and found exactly what you said to be true they pop them out at a couple different factories and slap different logos on the side, having said that I found someone on craigslist selling a no name new & picked one up. I found that the diameter of the tent frame was the only major difference in the different brands 5/8 vs 3/4.

There's a little more to it than just slapping on a different logo. Just because different brands could be assembled in the same factory, doesn't mean different brands doesn't supply their own quality control, and higher grade materials and designs. A friend of mine had a cheap rtt and hated the quality of it, but says my Tepui is a whole lot better than his was. I figured Tepui, being one of the cheaper chinese tents would be pretty low on quality but I've yet to find an issue with mine, in fact the quality and fit and finish is higher than I expected. Now I'm not trying to sell anyone a Tepui, but I'm glad all of my poles line up into the according holes, and my zippers are sewn in correctly, and everything is as it should be, unlike my friend's tent, he sold it because he was so unhappy with it.

I know that I haven't had any issues with my CVT. Seem to be good quality.

I'm definitely not knocking any brand, I know that there are some solid products out there I just happen to run into the one I picked up right after checking the others out & figured for the cost I'd give it a shot & it's done great.

Finally got to put the RTT to real use!

Full moon rising in Medicine Bow National Forest on Monday evening.
We had a great spot next to a running creek and beaver pond. No bugs. Big fire!

That is awesome!! I think I've finally decided on a Prinsu AccessRac with a CVT Mt. Cayley with annex at the end of the month. Does anybody know how to get that 10% discount from CVT? Was that just a one time thing?

Yes, I didn't actually ever do so, just went in through the other side. There is a nice big door on the annex to be able to get into the truck though. I have to say that it's very nice to have the annex to store gear and clothes.

I know a lot of people have issues with the annex bunching up next to the truck when they use it. I staked the floor out about 6 inches away from the truck before opening the tent. I think this helped, I had no issues whatsoever.

    Yeah, I was seriously amazed!

Just got this set up and love it. They classify the My Cayley as a 1-2 person so I was a little worried that it being too small for 2 people but my wife and I fit just fine.

Yeah I have some pics, my set up is a bit different than most but I will gladly post a few for you once I can get to a PC instead of this phone. Check back here in the morning and I'll have some up.

Sorry I forgot to post these sooner. Mt Cayley with annex on a custom trailer mount (that still needs a few minor tweaks to be perfect lol)

I've toyed around with the idea of a off-road trailer setup, but what keeps me from following through is being stuck doing 55mph in California.

Kinda nice to fly down the fast lane at 75-80...

We generally family camp with several other families for several days and take a lot of stuff. I have a TON of camping equipment. Several large coolers, camping gear boxes, 4 bicycles, firewood ect. It's quite ridiculous really but it makes things more enjoyable for the wife and kids. Here is the truck & trailer loaded for a 2 day trip. lol

Thanks. I made the bed rack for my taco first and then made the stand for the trailer fit the bed rack so that I could use it either way.

This trailer serves many purposes, my dad & I built it approximately 22 years ago out of a trashed out pop up camper frame. Everything I add or make for it I try to keep easily removable so that it can still serve as a trailer. I have a lot more planned for the RTT rack to help with storage and functionality when it's set up in "camping mode".

Same trailer decorated for my daughters girl scout troop in the local Christmas parade.

Same trailer trick or treating in style.
