I wired my 30" light bar to an Air on Board switch today and everything works... just not how I was intending it to. Currently the light bar can be turned on/off without the key in the ignition. I want to wire it so that it can only be turned on with the key in the ignition. Second issue is that the lighted switch is currently illuminated anytime the truck is on. I want the switch to only be illuminated when the rest of the dash lights are illuminated (i.e. the headlight/parking lights are on).

Here is a picture of the pinout of the switch. IGNORE THE REST OF THE WIRING DIAGRAM PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT I HAVE EACH PIN CONNECTED TO.

I currently have the green/yellow wire connected to an add-a-circuit plugged into the 15A "PWR OUTLET" spot near the drivers knee area. The red/yellow wire is connected to the relay. The blue/yellow wire is connected to an add-a-circuit plugged into the 7.5A "GAUGE" spot at the drivers knee. Last, the black wire is connected to ground.

    My questions are:
1.) Is the "PWR OUTLET" fuse a keyed fuse? If it is keyed, any ideas why I can switch the bar on and off without the keys in the ignition?
2.) If the "PWR OUTLET" fuse is not keyed (constant hot), which other fuse in the drivers knee area would be best to use for a keyed circuit?
2.) Is the "GAUGE" fuse the one that controls the dash lights? If not, which fuse is the correct fuse that controls the dash lights? I looked in the owners manual but the descriptions for each fuse were kind of confusing to me.
3.) Assuming the "GAUGE" fuse is the one associated with the dash lights, can anyone explain to me why the switch is always illuminated when the truck is on rather than only when the dash lights are illuminated?

I hope my explanation of how I wired the switch, and my questions made sense. Please let me know if any clarification is needed. Thanks in advance for your help!

For the short term fix... Move the green and yellow add a circuit to the gauge fuse spot. This will prevent the light being switched on without the key. Leave the blue and yellow unplugged till you get an answer for a good spot for the dash light part. I don't have a diagram in front of me to help with that at the moment.

You have a 2013, so I'm not sure if things changed through the years and now they made that power outlet fuse always hot.

Thanks. I will try this until I can find the proper location for the illuminated switch.

I got it all solved. The correct fuse for the dash light illumination is the "TAIL" fuse in the drivers side kick panel.
