That's not the same lake so your secret is safe. The lake we went to the hill down to the lake was steeper and longer.

Might as well, someone in a previous post mentioned "sacks". Sorry, I got to admit, I always giggle when I read some posts too fast. Even though I'm 46, I think like a 16 year old.

I've been trolling through TW since yesterday and I can't believe how many different sections there are!! This is quite addicting!

Ooops, wrong word! Thanks for the correction, just googled trolling and that's not what I'm doing!!! This is what I found:

Being a prick on the internet because you can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can.

    Example:
Guy: "I just found the coolest ninja pencil in existence."
Other Guy: "I just found the most retarded thread in existence."

Nice lake by Mt Hood. I know this lake. your secret is safe on here,,but yes,, the word is definitely out. Time to find a new one.

That's the thing,,if you tell anyone about a new cool find, withing years it has been invaded by strewn garbage. It's not a matter of "if" the National Forest reserve trails and such will be closed, it's just a matter of "when". Enjoy them while you can and while the fees to access are still relatively cheap.

You have 3 days of clear 70°-80° coming up. Topper should be prepped and ready?.

So true Mod, so true. Best thing about Oregon is all those back roads that no one else knows about. Until someone else knows about them  I still have a few tricks up my sleeve that you PNW guys don't know about I bet. We've got another one that we've always had to ourselves, different area, and I think there's a good chance it might still be that way, even 5+ years later, because that road did the majority of the damage to the paint job on the Taco :D That road was one of my first experiences in the Taco of getting a serious adrenaline rush out of driving on the side of a cliff and seeing the road in front of me narrow, turn, twist, and become even shittier than what we'd just driven over.....then getting the payoff when you actually make it to the destination in one piece and realize, HOLY CRAP, we have THIS to ourselves?!?!?!??!? :yay:

And yes the garbage thing really pisses me off. I am not the ultimate save the planet person and often could do much better at that stuff. But leaving beer bottles in a place like that? And other garbage? C'mon man. What a loser move. Can't believe people actually do that shit. Maybe I should be a forest ranger? That would be kinda fun, then I could go around doing this :quickdraw: whenever I see someone throwing trash down in the forest!!

And you are so right about the weather/topper thing too!! Didn't prep yet, wasn't sure if it would be bad for it to get scuffed up with the Scotch Brite thing then rained on for a few days straight right after. So I waited. I am honestly not planning to go all super perfectionist about this project, so a half assed scuffing shouldn't take long, right? :D Got an appt in NE today, so that's gonna drain the whole afternoon (traffic :angrygirl:) but should be able to prep this AM and maybe paint tomorrow?

Trying to pick a lake for this weekend. Want to take the blow up boat somewhere, been YEARS AND YEARS since we've done that, and it's supposed to be in the freaking 90's in PDX this weekend!! And sunny as all get out!! Perfect time to take advantage of nature's air conditioning up in a forest nearby and bake in the sunshine in that little boat floating around in a beautiful place with a cold beverage, one of my fave ways to waste a day :D

Guys!! Check it out!! We're decking out the back of the Taco to go camping!! Working out there right now to get the new "bed" all squared away, might ask for some tips from y'all. Gotta pick up some foam tomorrow and make a "bed" out of it. Heading to the lake this weekend, to that other secret spot I mentioned earlier today. Better not find Mod and Cosmic there when we arrive or we'll have to do this :duel: over who gets to keep the spot

Excited!! Going camping in the Taco for 1st time in many years!! Hope I'm not too old for this shit nowadays :D

    "WHAT WAS THAT NOISE?????????????" :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

"Ow, my M.F.'in back hurts dude!"

"Dolly, get your ass back here NOW! Stop eating weird shit!!"

"You forgot to pack the ____________?!??!?!"

Yessirree, gonna be some good times in our future :bananadead:

    Guess what I just found?!?!?

    HAYNES MANUAL!!!!!!

Sleeping bag bin. Not sure what brilliant person put it there @dollysdad but at least it's found now :)

Got the carpet stapled onto our new Taco "bed" and Eric is about to do turtle man and get the red topper on there. Guess I'm not painting it tomorrow. I'll be loading 12 billion coolers in the bed all day instead :D

Here's what I picture when we plan a camping trip:
