I'm new to this forum. I also do not own a Tacoma yet, I'm buying one in January. I'm looking at a 2010 Reg cab 4x4 4Cly SR5. What I would like to know is, is the SR5 package worth the money? I know you get the chrome and the painted bumper, but besides that is it worth it?

Well I test drove one a few days ago, I want a bench seat, but a 60/40 bench would be nicer than the straight up bench that the truck I drove had. Also the intermittent wipers would be nice, I'm not sure if anything else comes with the SR5 package other than cosmetic paint and chrome.

Thats true cruise could be nice. I had an 88 Toyota 3.0L I loved that truck, I have a 03 Dodge Dakota 2wd currently. I hate the quality of the american cars now plus I want 4x4. My local dealer will actually let me order the truck I want in January.

dont base ur opinion on american cars from dodge. ive had all sorts of vehicle, but i dont think ill ever own a dodge, thier quality is bad, tranny's suck donkey balls! i have bench seats in my 99 taco & i enjoy them. at times it sux, like if u need to haul 3 people, but other times it comes into a good situation, people that u really dont care for asking for a ride. sorry there not enough seat belts for ya! ild say get what u want man. if u have to get a 60/40 seat then later on u can update to whatever u'ld like.

no cruise in the reg cab flavor.

the sr5 package includes a/c, which if purchased seperately, would run about $8-$900. I didn't want/need the sr5 pkg, but I'm glad my truck came that way... the painted front bumper and overfenders, and rear sliding window are worth the extra few bucks imo.

Guys I hear ya I love Tacoma I would be fine with a base Reg cab and bench seat like you guys I don't care about carting everyone ass around. I was just wondering if I missed something in the package I'll see what happens I'm getting a Tacoma in January that's all I know. As far as Dodge goes they don't suck entirely I have had really good luck with my Dakota but they have had the same problems for ummmm decades, and I’m sorry that to me screams low quality I really do not want to invest in a new one. I'll stick with a Toyota which ironically is made is America lol

Mine has the SR5 package and from what i can tell it's about the only option it has on it. I think the chrome looks better than the black plastic, looks less cheapy. Also, the wipers and cruise are options that have become almost necessities. I think we take them for granted until they're gone.

Get the SR5. It is not that much more than just getting Air Conditioning, plus you will have a few creature comforts that you will enjoy for years, it looks better (painted fenders and chrome grill) and it will have better resale and be easer to sell if you ever decide to get rid of it. Best of luck to you!
