    That could work! Windrock is definitely on the list.

    So back to the frame chop.... Should I get some rectangle tube and slug it before putting it back together or would just butt welding and fish plating it be strong enough?

    I don't know what guys normally do, but my structural background says you should sleeve the frame before butting it back together.

    From what Ive seen most guys that chop the front of the frames for sas just weld the tubes together then plate over top… but sleeving never hurts either

    Me personally I'd slug it, butt weld, then plate it.

    Dammit I guess I'm not getting my frame back together this weekend then... Have to get some rectangle tube. I'll slug it to be safe, don't want the thing to break in half because I took a shortcut

    Make a rectangle tune to fitninside...drill holes frame side rosette weld them then weld edge where it protrudes. Use 3/16 and the end cap punch a hole slide tube through then box it to the tube work...the upper cage will tie it all in....and the cross over for shocks etc...gussete corners and plate where needed on intersecting points not over kill....

    I'm not backhalfing, just taking a section out of the frame to shorten it up 7".

    You'll be fine even if you just plate over it. Never seen anyone sleeve it, although maybe no one ever took photos of it. Sleeve can't hurt though that's for sure.

    The frame is made of 2"x4"x1/8" so to fit inside of it would have to be 3.75"x1x75". Do they even make that? I could make my own 6" section or so of rectangle tube to go inside it I suppose

    That I don't have.. Oh well. I'm in no hurry, I'll have to get my driveshaft cut down after I get it back together anyways. Should I stick with the 1 piece or go back to a 2 piece design?

    I agree 3/16..
    I was going to chop mine off all together so that's where my thinking was at....yeah the sleeve if you make it but if your not acing the whole thing just plate it....
    Cut some 1" holes whare it overlaps so you have extra bite or welds....

    Home Depot or scrap yard may have some 3/16 or 1/4" plate

    Yeah I'm planning on angling the ends of the plate and cutting some circles in it for increased surface area.
