Been having problems with this thing for about 2 months. It hasn't gone out permanently but it's either on when I turn my truck on or it's not. If it does come on it doesn't go off as long as it's running. The next time I start my truck it is a roll of the dice. I've read about the resistor needing to be soldered but if that's the problem wouldn't it just not work at all? I've been trying to figure out a pattern as to why it works or doesn't but there doesn't seem to be one. Any ideas?

My 09 was acting the same way and finally stopped completely. I just did the soldering and it's working. There was no visible sign of a broken connection but I soldered anyway, thank you Tacoma World and its members.

I've done this twice now on different trucks and both have worked fine.

Also OP, mine would go on and off like you stated yours is. It finally just quit altogether. I resoldered it and it hasn't gone off since.
