I was initially set on a DCLB but the dealer talked out me out of it after asking me some questions. One of those rare times I'm glad I listened to a car salesperson because sure enough a long bed wouldn't have fit in my garage. The short bed has worked out pretty well for me but I can see where there are times the long bed would be nice. 8 years later no buyers remorse and love my Tacoma now more than when I bought it!

I moved my old washer and dryer in my DCSB, it fit with about 1/2" left to close tailgate.

I am thinking about getting a fullsize truck with extended cab as they offer about the same size interior as double cab but bigger bed.

Holy leaf springs. The tailgate would be touching the ground on my TSB's.

I admit the long bed would be nice. I take my three boys camping 6-8 times a year, and the short bed is very full. But as it is, it only just fits in the garage. And I was really impressed with the turn radius and ease of parking the SB. I still have a hitch haul cargo platform that I'll probably use quite a bit when camping.

Heck, I wish for a more spacious cab even more than a bigger bed. But I knew I was getting a 75% truck to be a 98% daily driver, and that I'd be accepting its limits when it was pressed into actual truck duty. It's plenty for us. Still 100 times better than cramming all that stuff into my wife's pathfinder, especially when it's wet and dirty.

I have slept many times in my LB.
off road I did have to wiggle a little more but I've made it everywhere others went.

I wanted a 4x4 off road or no Tacoma at all. Kinda settled it for me. But had they made the off road in a long bed which is stupid on their part I would own one.

If they made something shorter than the short bed I would of bought it. I don't care enough to bob the bed however.

    No regrets on my choice.

    DCLB - Need it:

More stable when towing, and can put a lot of tools in the box.

Nice trailer! Man I miss mine. Sold it when I stopped doing construction. Oh and when I sold the 7.3L Powerstroke and went to the 4 banger Yota...

My truck is often used as a truck, sometimes with 3 passengers, so DCLB was the only thing I considered. If a manual was offered in that configuration, I would have considered it, but that doesn't really bother me. To my eye, the DCLB is still too short -- another 6" in bed length with larger diameter tires (maybe 265s) would give the SR5 correct proportions. Someday, when the kids are grown, I will have a FS straight cab with an 8' bed.

I wasn't a fan of the front end of the 4runner when I bought my truck. It looked momish.

Every time I see a DCSB on the freeway, I ever-so-slowly pass them so that the driver can see there is another Tacoma next to them. Then I pause with my long bed right in their face so they can see the superiority of the DCLB and force them to reflect on the rest of their poor life choices.

I'm on Tacoma #3 since 2010. All DCSB. No regrets.
The LB makes perfect sense if it fits a specific need.
