This popping noise had to go!!

I can't say with confidence it was the pads alone. I changed rotors out too, and I suppose it could also be rotors shifting on the hub. It is a loud pop and pads shifting doesn't seem like it could produce that sound.
Either way, rotors and pads fixed it.

 

To verify this theory, I could move my driver side pads and rotors to the opposite side and see if the noise subsides or transfers to the passenger side.

 

How about the needle bearing bushing in the front differential?

I wonder if the fella on page 114 post # 2276 is having the same loud clunk as I ? I hope not cause changing the needle bearing out is the last thing I wanted to do. Especially since for the first 80,000 miles of my truck was non lifted and never even been off a paved road. ( I bought the truck used)

 

Is it possible that it is the spring making the noise somehow?

 

^1rooster posted a video showing the noise with the truck lifted up and rotating the wheel by hand. The spring isn't moving in the video.

 

I also get a clunk/popping sound when reversing. Don't know what it is it it's been like that for months now. Happens after I got my icon suspension Installed.

A sharp left or right always makes the noise.

Here's what could be going on. This is on a fj cruiser with badly worn LCA bushings. I don't think mine are this bad though. Mine are just being violently Jared from one side to another there for making the noise a lot louder.

 

mine is more like a loud metal "POP!" noise. only when i have the wheel cut all the way at a dead stop taking off in drive and in reverse. if im at a dead stop and cut my wheel all the way left or right then either back up or take off in drive it will make the loud "POP!" noise. its a brand new truck and hasnt done it until i put the 6" lift on

 

This. It is most likely the pads bouncing back and forth.

 

Subbing for later. I occasionally have the same sound issue.

 

This is what my noise was, which sounds like the OP's. I had to replace my passenger lca and it went away. Yes, it was the bushing.

 

my 2015 is makes a clunk noise every time I make a right turn and at first i thought it was from my driver seat being loose but it wasn't so not sure whats causing the noise.

 

I checked the popping noise. Turns out it was just brake related. Guess I need to order the part soon.
