Hose?? dangling near catalytic converter

2004 2.7 liter 4x2. Can anyone help me identify what this is dangling in these pictures. Many thanks!

 

I'm no expert, but it looks like a sensor that sits in the bracket on the exhaust (in the background of both pics).

 

O2 sensor that is not bolted up.

 

Yeah, it's the O2 sensor. Is the truck running OK??

 

In the immediate background is the hole where the 02 sensor bolts onto.
It's so obvious what this "hose" is, it almost smells of trolls in here...

 

My truck has 4 big rubber donuts on it, what are they for?

 

O2 sensor. Get that installed!!

 

Downstream o2 sensor for emissions. Wont really hurt the truck unlike the upstream sensor but get it installed right away.

 

Broken off stud in background, remaining nut backed off on its own? That would be hard to believe given how hard these suckers weld themselves due to road crap and such...troll alert...

I back off the troll comment, however, still wondering how anyone could post a picture with the solution right in the pic, kinda like a piece to the puzzle...gotta wonder what kind of racket this made, not to mention possible carbon monoxide fumes in stop and go traffic...

 

I see one good stud, but I think the wire blocks the other- I don't see a broken stud. I DO see missing nuts. And, this makes me wonder- when did this happen? Like, you just went under the car this morning and saw this randomly? Or, you bought the truck like this 5 years ago, and just this morning dropped a dollar bill that went under the truck and lo-and-behold you saw this?

After working in the svc department of my last employer for 5+years, I've NEVER seen nuts backed off on an O2... more than likely they'd need to be cut off- usually they're just one solid mass of metal/rust after 10-12 years (here in New England anyhow). So, who took them off?

Weird, 3 posts total for OP, now nothing...I hope this means he got two nuts (pun intended) and reattached the sensor post haste...

The racket coming from this had to be loud, still wondering if this was a fluff postage....
