Double vs Access

My last truck was a 98 T100 access cab. Ordering a 2016 Sport Access Never really seen the need for 4 full doors. Does everyone buy it for looks or do you actually haul people? Thoughts ?

 

I got a son he won't fit in the tiny back seats of an AC so had to go with the DC but love the look anyways

 

I fly solo most of the time, access cab is right for me, and can reach the sliding rear window too

 

I bought my access cab for the longer bed length. I carry around stuff more than people but there have been times when I wish I bought the double. One thing no one told me about the access model is that it does not have the roof rack mounts build on so if you want a roof rack you're gonna hafta drill it yourself. My .02.

 

I'm trying to decide also I think the access cab long bed is the same wheelbase as the double cab short bed I really like the way the access Looks but it seems kind of more practical to have that area in the backseat with the doulble cab.

 

Access cab has room for stuff behind the front seats too

 

Yeah. I hauled both my kids and their friends in the back of the T for many years Always was able to make it work. Now the youngest is 22. I understand the kid thing but everybody tells me I am nuts for getting the access. The only thing I see unavailable would be the moonroof or the limited. And don't really need either one

 

I do like that the dc seat folds flat. Or at least it does on the gen2

 

It's all about personal preferable and what works for your lifestyle I have a dclb and it works for any need I'd ever want it to

 

I'm in college so I haul people a lot. I wish I had a DC for that reason only. I love the way the AC looks and the fact that it has a longer bed. It is perfect when it is just me and my girlfriend but eventually I think I will get a DC. I have been converted to a lifelong tacoma owner now.

 

Im usualy driving solo, Never really haul people either, But I figured life changes and I keeping my 05 for the long run. So Picked up the DCLB so I got the space for people and to haul stuff in the back. Also looks badass!

 

Sane length bed between the AC and the DC long bed both 6.5 foot beds

 

No one wants to ride in my ac back seats for more than 15 minutes, it was about cost for me. The ac does look the best

 

I bought the DC for the obvious interior space.Wether i'm hauling people around or loading it up with extra stuff that i choose to not put in the bed this was the Tacoma i wanted.Has nothing to do with looks.The AC does look good though.

 

6' and 1" to be exact. I know it's a smaller truck but gotta go with the double cab if you think you'll drive with more than 1 other person, ever. I got a DCSB now and the interior has served me very well. Very rarely do I drive with more than one other person up front, but when you need the back, it's there. I've had my 3 teenage nieces in the back a few times and it was completely fine.

The bed length on the SB is another story. I work construction and haul around a lot of tools. Although it works for now... it's starting to get cramped back there. Will definitely be purchasing the Long Bed in the future. Hey, they all say it for a reason...

Running solo, but having the extra space in the back, whether for gear or intelligent life, is a plus. Also, it's Toyota, I like thinking I'll have this truck long into the future so there's the possibility for having the little ones back there.

As far as bed storage goes, there's always DCLBFTW. The wheel-base really isn't that much longer and I like it, it's what I'm running. Honestly the length makes me feel more full-size-truck-esk!

 

Precisely. I've explained to the wife that the driveway is plenty long enough for it, but that's what I want. Sure, I can't turn like her Prius, but at least I'll be able to fit in the bed anything she'd want to get at Sam's.

 

I was really hoping the 2016 would come with a foldup full rear bench on the Access Cab. Nope. Neither the Colorado/Canyon does either.

I was thinking that was a no-brainer to increase sales, but nope. It would be about $300 to do so, but nope. I doubt it will even be an option.

 

Pretty sure the DCLB is not going to be made into 2016. Might make my decision there. Just cannot get by with a 5' box. I will admit though I drove my sons DCLB. About 600 miles back from his college. Probably the best ride of any truck.

 

The back seats on my access cab are worthless, the rear console and storage boxes under the rear seats just take floor space.
If I could have a do over it would be a double cab.
A regular cab with a bench seat would suit me almost as well as the access.
