So its hot here today around 100.. I used to not use AC in my previous cars, but this one I decided I might as well use it since I have it.
Well I have eaxctly 3600 miles on it now(just turned over) and I thought maybe there was a break in period for it since there are moving parts... So far after all this time the AC hardly gets cold. Even on a nice 75*F day I can roll the windows down and it can be the same or cooler outside(I forget I have it on sometimes).
I might be used to my girlfriends 2011 Nissan altima, my moms 2014 camary, or my dads 2015 tundra, but this thing blows maybe 10-20*F colder air than what it is outside(20 being a LONG shot)
The cars I listed will make your face or hands go numb which I think makes it worth using the AC, otherwise I might as well roll the windows down.
Am I expecting too much or do you guys think it is a problem?

some of this, a little of that
you're still in warranty, drop by the dealer and have them check the temp and coolant level.

My 15 also has 3600 miles on it and the AC blows ice cold. And it's hot and humid here.

Do any of you have a temperature reading that I can compared to? I am going to put a thermometer in it soon.
Its somewhat humid, but it is hot...
I will take it in 400 miles for my oil change(I like 4000 even if it is unneeded) I like doing it myself, but then this means a carwash and no work for me!

You do have it on recirculate, correct? If not, try that.

Nothing blocking the condenser? Low miles don't matter if you've sucked something in the grill like a sheet of plastic, etc that restricts airflow.

Center nozzle temp should be ~47 running down the road (air flow on condenser, not just fan working at idle)

Otherwise it's a warranty issue. 95 and humid here, nice and cool in cab.

I saw you live in Bakersfield. I do too i was driving to work today and i noticed my AC isn't as cold as some other cars ive owned. you also have to think how long has your car been under the sun. and air circulation is also important. roll your windows down on full blast for a few minutes to get as much hot air out then. make sure its not on outside air coming in it on recycle mode or whatever its called pull air from inside not outside.

I was driving around a lot today and had both the windows down on start up as well.
It is fully turned to the left and recycle mode is on(i turned it off then on again)
I drive 17 miles to work, then drove 20 miles throughout the day to different sites and gave up and rolled the windows down.
The only time the AC gets really cold is when it is 65 outside in the morning.

Yeah this is driving on the freeway at 75. Plenty of airflow over the condenser, recirc on too. Hmm I will try to measure it tonight. I am skeptical it is 47, but maybe.

Mine is cold and it gets hot and humid here in North Carolina. Doesn't sound like it's working correctly.

Mine works, but just doesnt seem to be at its full potential. Do you think at only 45,000 miles i should check my refrigerant level?

it really depends, all vechicles are a tad different. Freon doesn't run low. AC is a sealed system so the only way you would run out is if you had a leak in the system

Well i would think that i wouldnt have a leak on a 5 year old truck with no bad history. Ill test the pressure at some point. Luckily (well un-luckily actually) i live in ASSachusetts and i only use AC a handful of times a year.

yeah hopefully not. but things wear out. if its not that then check the condenser, make sure nothing is blocking air flow. like what Clearwater bill said

It's a long shot, but check the 'blend' middle dial to make sure it's connected. Had this problem (although opposite - heater was warm, not hot - blend was stuck on the blue side) on a new Corolla several years ago.
