I had to remove the bed cage and paint it because it was starting to rust up from all the rain. So I wire brushed the whole thing. Then wiped it down with paint thinner to clean it and painted it just like the front bumper. This project is taking longer then expected. Now I hope I get it done before next years Rock Therapy. We will see.

Build is coming along nicely Ray.
So, have you heard of the sand dune area just outside of Walden, Colorado?
Lot's of places to air that baby out. Just a couple hours from Ft. Collins, unless Home Alone is leading, than about 45 minutes. It's a fairly big area.

No I haven't. I'm not to familiar with anything in Co. I will definitely be googling areas. Once it's built I would have to test it out first before I give anyone a ride. I need to get a feel for how it handles before hand and I will definitely push it as hard as I can. Thanks for the info.

You say that now but I've been looking at one of these. It's just getting the wife to ok it with the build but as of now it's a no.

So as of now everything I've done is posted. I ordered a dual battery box to run two batteries in the bed. And toytec should be getting back at me with a amount so I can order total chaos long travel kit. Other then that nothing to exciting.

Yeah I herd the same. But I don't like kings for personal reasons. Plus I found this stuff I'm willing to try and help with that. http://www.corrosionx.com/
Plus most metals that isn't treated will rust. Just more maintenance on my part which I'm willing to do. Not a big deal.

I hope I'm not sounding defensive I'm not being that way. I appreciate any info I get.

How can they rust? I see a lot of zinc coated, chrome plated, alloy, billet aluminum materials...Just the rod ends maybe?
