Going to split into 2 groups. I figured one start the Lolo and one start the Magruder and meet in the middle.

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.

    Hahahaha! Oh...too soon? :(

Ooooh...I'm an offroad newb for the most part but might be down for that. I did Tahuya once (DoraGate) and skipped all of the hard stuff. I don't mind just driving around service roads. I'll check back and see what the interest is.

Well since I'm in the market for new UCA's, any suggestions? It seemed half the guys on the trail run last weekend had all different UCA's. Camburg, icon, etc... I noticed there's a group buy for all pro UCA's going on right now. Any benefit to having the 1.25" uniball over the 1" other manufacturers are using? Looking at the receipts I got from the previous owner, the icons I have are the 58630's. Standard travel adjustable coil overs.

I'm still a big fan of my Desert Products UCAs. Chromoly, boxed look and stainless uniball. Regardless of the uniball size, stainless is my recommendation.

    X2, love mine!

I don't think many people on here know bob.. Bob broke a ball joint uca up above Gallagher head lake. Shout out to Dakota for letting us have his old ones, his friend jake for bringing them to Roslyn and then I went to go get them. JDAM, awilson013, Greddy, cosmic fires and their friends for helping install on the trail!

I've been lurking TW for a few months, reading a lot to try to figure out what I'd like to do with my truck. Some of you have given me some feedback, which I appreciate. Not sure how to become "official" member of the NW members, however I'm going to be looking for opportunities to get out and meet others, see some good trails and learn from others.

If I understand correctly, uniball is going to offer more strength... but you aren't going to probably care unless you have big plans to prep your truck for hucking around jumps. Also, uniball needs care and makes noise.
For economy, a lot of people are looking at JBA, it's sort of the new hotness in that price bracket. Some comparisons here. I haven't had my light racing fail, but their BJ design isn't the best.
Icon, TC, Desert Racing, Camburg... probably all pretty similar. I see a lot of guys going with Dirt King recently.

Really, just start talking and meet up with people. I lol a bit with the guys who get caught up needing a pic on the first page. I don't even know what the first page looks like any more.

Big props to you also Brian for going and getting the replacement for me! I guess I'll be known as the guy that goes on trail runs and doesn't bring a tool box! Won't be making that mistake again. If it hadn't have been for you guys I would have been SOL. I can't thank everyone enough for lending a hand that day.

Just FYI, dad and i did the upper loop, he was in a bone stock TRD offroad 07 Tacoma, i was in my 2001 Grand Cherokee, with only BFG ATs on it. we had no issues, provided we weren't stupid and drowning our vehicles like some who shall remain nameless.

When I was doing the UCA search thing awhile back I was reading a lot about not buying from All Pro. I think it was on this forum.

I have the Light Racing arms and really have enjoyed them. At the time of purchase, if I would have had an extra couple hundred dollars to spend on UCAs, I would have gotten the Icon tubular UCAs. Really only to match the rest of my suspension.

I honestly don't think I believe that a uniball is necessary for any of the trucks/terrain we're running here in the PNW... But if I had a larger bank account, I'd run them for sure.

tl;dr... Buy what you can afford. I imagine that Icon, Total Chaos, and Camburg are pretty close to equals. I don't know that I'd include All Pro in there. Light Racing has served me well, especially for the price. And the replacement ball joints are cheap and easy to replace... I carry an extra for either side.

As for your coilovers... If/when you get them rebuilt you can have them changed to the extended travel, I am pretty sure. I think there's just a spacer in there that you remove.
