Another +1 for Mobtown, I was at his place yesterday getting the DCSB sliders finished up, should be fully welded and powder coated next week. Joe does good work (his welds and fabrication are sharp) and I'm all about supporting locals. Will post pics next week.

thanks for the reply. I'd be looking for someone to lead the effort with instruction as I've never tackled the Tacoma suspension before. are you comfortable with that? you're in Baltimore, yea?

Yup. I just did the same lift kit on mine. It's pretty easy if the coils are assembled.

If you are on a budget it is not that much more work to do the springs yourself. Just use a floor jack to push up on the lower control arm. I installed mine this way and never felt unsafe. There is a YouTube video somewhere... But if you have the cash it wouldn't hurt to have them do it for you.

I've done this same method twice now, no issues. Just go slow and don't stand in front of the wheel well in case all hell breaks loose!

Put on the 1/2" spacers, had my new 265/70-17 BFG Rugged Terrains mounted and put on, removed my mud flaps. Looks much better! Sliders next week. Popped off the front skid plate so I can start mocking that up too. Once that's done and sliders bolted on the rear bumper design begins!

So i have a question for us MD people. If you own a car that is used strictly as a Rallycross car, and never gets driven on public roads, and is trailed to and from the event, do you have to have tags and insurance on it? also, id think that id be able to just park it in my driveway to work on it, otherwise it would be kept on its trailer.... Im in AA county, is there any wierd laws/ordinances against that? After my last trip, and the resulting dmage to my truck... figured i might just go get a craigslist beater and go after the rallycross stuff ive wanted to get into instead of beating up my $20,000 truck, just beat up a $2000 craigslist car

Edit: any advice you guys give me i dont hold you responsible for , i just want to know , as google is being rather unhelpful or im searching the wrong things.

correct, we have a beater truck that doesn't go on public roads, hasn't been tagged, insured, or inspected in 9 years. If you are towing the truck and you get into an accident resulting in damage to your truck, you need to make sure you're auto insurance covers towed vehicles.

Got it, so would have to insure the trailer enough to cover accidents while towing the care, but otherwise would be good. Are you aure that goes for AA county as well? im having a hell of a time finding any pertinent info anywheres

My understanding is that is for all of MD, the best option would be to call your insurance company, since you only need to (legally) insure vehicles that go onto the public roads, and thus would have tags and such.

Buy something you can tag historic, no state inspection. Then put a diesel motor in it, SAS, 37's, Atlas four speed gearbox, 5.30 gears, four link suspension and maybe a winch...

    Boom, problem solved.

If you live in a community that has a HOA you might have to check there bylaws on unregistered vehicles they often have rules against that cause they don't you bring down the value of the neighborhood with a bunch of junk cars.If they dont keep a cover on it to avoid any issues
