I agree in person the interior is really nice, the exterior leaves something to be desired.

I mean, it's still a Tacoma with Tacoma dimensions.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm not familiar with the advantages/disadvantages of drum vs disc. I know I want discs on my next mountain bike... :) And I know the Tacoma stops right quick when I need it to. That was one of the most impressive parts of my test drive. The salesman had me really stomp on it and it was remarkably short and straight. And I recall changing the rear drum brakes on my father-in-law's old car was a lot more work than the front discs, but I expect that will be a really infrequent job. I wonder how long most people are going between brake jobs. I reckon I could find that out with a quick search here.

Man it's hard to say but no i don't. Basically a bunch of promo girls just standing around, couldn't find anyone around that looked like they knew anything about it. But damn, it feels really beefy sitting in the drivers seat. May upset some saying this but I do feel that this truck will be more appealing to the younger generations of drivers.

How did the room feel compared to the current Tacoma? Was it a double cab? If it was did you sit in the back seat?

It was a double cab, did not sit in the rear seats. The front felt "roomier" than my 15 does. I was to say the least mildly intoxicated and let out a pretty loud holler when i saw it (scared my gf haha) ran up to it and jumped in. I (not being in my right mind) really wish i would have taken photos and found somebody to talk about it with. I have failed my TW fam!!!

1 more question. Did it have a sunroof? If it did. Did it cut in on the headroom?

The Tacoma does stop nicely. But you drove it empty, not loaded. When comparing a 2015 DCSB Tacoma vs a 2015 DCSB Colorado, the Colorado (w/ 4 wheel discs) stops quicker when empty and it's the heavier truck. In towing comparison with the same trailer the reviewers said the Colorado had better braking and stopped better especially downhill.

Disc brakes are better, even in mid size trucks but the fanboys don't want to admit it and just keep making excuses. Toyota has just gone cheap and since its recycled parts going into the 2016 the drums are coming too.

No worries bud...it would have been great to get "real world" feedback but I'm sure I would be distracted too with what you described (girls).

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I talked with one of the TOYOTA engineers in MOAB wile we were sitting right next to the truck is it not the same cab it's wider and longer with all new stamping of all skeletal sheet metal with reinforcements in key areas. It looks to be the same but it's not from what he said.

I find this really hard to believe. But not gonna argue with an engineer. From seeing it at the auto show, its looks the exact same, Im not sure why they would waste R&D to make it slightly longer and wider, I somehow doubt this. The chief engineer also said nothing was carried over besides a seat belt bracket which is blatantly untrue. I would take what he said with a grain of salt. Again I have no way to say otherwise, and some of you 3rd gen guys are nutso about this damn truck so I'll just leave it at that.

Yeah I'm not sure why but that's what he said to me when I questioned the cabs skeleton.

It is not wider. Mike Sweers chief engineer has even said so. I'd trust his word over anyone else. Interior room may be wider to do how they set up the door panels/seats etc.
