Where at in Oregon Tim? Looks green in your pic, so I assume the darkside. I'm on the east side of the state, and I'm out in the woods pretty much every weekend.

So, a hot, dry, and windy summer. I can smell the smoke already.

I like the smoke smell. We've already had a couple fires on the free side of the state, but I think it will take a few weeks to dry out all of this lush, green grass to really get the ladder fuels primed to go. One thing is for sure, it is a bad bug year! I am covered in mosquito bites from camping last weekend.

I'll have to drive my car to the lake. No AC in it. So, when I get there, I can go for a swim to cool off. Then get back in the car to drive home and be dry after a couple miles (though only for a couple more til I'm drenched again).

Aww that's cute, since we're showing off AMB, let me show you mine.
[IMG] that was in Boulder City, NV a few summers ago. that's moving temp, not stationary vehicle. so hot my engine fan couldn't keep the vehicle cool in a high gear, had to downshift to get the fan to spin faster.

It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
I must agree, if choosing between a wet coldish summer or a hot dry one, I'd take hot and dry any day - makes lake days way more fun.

However, with that said, we tried the old "escape to natural air conditioning" trick this past HOT weekend, and camped up in Mt Hood forest right next to a lake. It was sweltering hot if you stepped out of the shade for even a second. Sweaty hot. And I don't like the fire worries either.

But I'd still take hot and dry over wet and cold when it comes to summer. Gotta get that temporary reprieve from the wet misery we face most of the year here in the valley.

I might get made fun of for suggesting this, but I'll take my chances. Home Depot sells these misters that screw onto your hose for like $12 and that thing is the bomb. Mists just the right amount of cold water at ya so you stay cool and comfy but aren't getting blasted by it. On a hot day, when you wanna enjoy the sun but are baking hot and don't have a pool and don't feel like driving to a pool/lake, hook that up and settle into a comfy chair right in front of it and don't forget your sunscreen and icy cold beverage of your choice!! : ) We used to set up this giant blow up pool we have in the summers, but it kills the grass and gets kinda grody if you don't change the water regularly/maintain it. Just too much of a PITA/waste of water to bother with. So misters it is for this year! Even thinking of getting a hose splitter and having like 5 or 10 of those things going on our deck - build a misting room, how bout that? : )

I won't make fun of you for that. When I was in Kuwait, they had those set up at a few of the bus stops. They were awesome.

We're at opposite ends of the state, but if you find yourself up this way we'll have to go for a run.

I can't trade trucks straight across, but I'll trade suspension so you can have the stock stuff back and you can start again. :burnrubber: A guy can dream can't he?
