Last March 24 I fell and broke my back in five places in the Thoracic spine with compression in all five places.

It has been a roller coaster ride from hell. My health has been on the decline for years with vascular problems and other known and unknown problems. I have had back problems for 20+ years and have dealt with this problem with my mind as far as the pain. All I have got done so far is pop pills since March 24.. The nero surgeon says let mother nature take it's course. Well that prick is not dealing with the pain that I am going through. I keep telling these doctors that they be something really wrong with my breast bone and they just look at me. I have had this breast bone for 60 years and if anyone should know something is not right would be me. I have two bones sticking out from my chest just off of center. My breast bone keeps popping and cracking.

I have lost 20 pounds since I fell. I asked the wife to put me down a few weeks back. She thought I was just being funny. I was never more fucking serious in my life then what I asked her to do for me. Pain is just a feeling and if one can get past the thought one can deal with it with out pain meds, I have done this for years. I am sorry this is far more then my mind can deal with. Even with the meds the pain is still off the charts. My the mind is being consumed by the pain. I have not driven since the fall more then a few blocks at a time. For the first time in my life I had to pay people to cut my grass and do things around the house for me.

Some may ask why I posted this and I really don't know but if anyone has any thoughts as how to deal with this would be great as I am at the end for dealing with this.

Dang, man, sorry to hear all that. Hope it gets better for you.

I can only offer to talk to somebody, like a psychologist.

Again, best of luck, and dont' hesitate to let it out here too. This is a great community and lots of support can be gained here.

You have my sympathies. My only thought is to try other doctors. Keep getting second opinions until you get help.

Probably out of the question, perhaps consider moving on to where you can get green stuff? Don't flak me for that, as the country is progressing towards it. But you hear many stories where it ailes unspeakable pain and problems.

Likewise. Hope for the best. I had an experience a few years ago and went through the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. It was nowhere near as bad as what you describe, but I can sympathize with the helpless feeling of not being mobile, much less do any of my own maintenance around the house. All I can suggest is to keep your head up. 60 years is a long time on this earth and you didn't make it all this way by being stupid. Give us younger guys something to look up to. TW is a very helpful community and at the very least can offer some words of encouragement from other people in the hobby. I agree with @T Fades, sometimes its more helpful than you realize to just talk to someone, much like you're doing here.
Good luck and lots of strength to you and those around you.

You can probably imagine what I would say first by my signature ... Short of that I would try ice baths ... Nothing makes my pain go away faster than ice. Prayers for you and your family during this trying time.

The evening it happen I was home alone. I fell backwards and hit a rail road tie. I garden in raised beds. I hit hard then hit the ground. I could not get up for what seamed like 20 minutes maybe longer. I couldn't move my arms or hands. Damn phone is on the patio and no neighbors out and about, wouldn't done no good as I could not breathe to yell. Then I checked my legs and all was good. I know I blacked out once. When I got my arms and hands back I finally got up. It took me a good 45 minutes to go 70 feet or so to the patio. Now I had a phone but one would need to understand our 911 system and the ambulance service. No way I am going to our ER that was closing in less a week or any other ER near by. Wife is at work and I try to get in touch with her. She had two places she was working that night and I knew where she was but she was not in her office. It took 39 calls to get in touch with her through other people. By this time I got my next door neighbor to come over and be with me till the wife got home. She took me to the ER about an hour away. They did a CT scan of my spine. They hit me 5 times with morphine and some other junk before they got the pain under control. I have a high tolerance for pain and even a higher tolerance for pain meds. Sold me a $2000.00 brace that no one there knew how I should use it but gave me a paper with some photos on it. 4 or 5 hours latter they sent me home. WTF! Some doctor office called about two weeks later and said I had a appointment the next day, referred by the ER doctor. LMAO.

So that what's went down. Then the roller coaster ride. One of my doctors wants to put me on morphine. Not till the last straw. My lungs filled up with fluids right after the fall. They had me on all kinds of antibiotics and steroids and the all the pain meds. I am now down to just the pain meds. Oxy 10-325 every 6 hours or less if needed. Methocarbam 750mg every 6 hours and gabapentin100mg every 6 hours. As bad as I hate prescription drugs I only take the Oxy once and maybe twice a day on my worse days. I pick the time of day when I need to be somewhat better with the pain and save that for then. The part that bothers me the most is all I have got done up till now is pop pills. I did go for a second opinion and walked out when I found out I was going to see some nurse instead of the doc him self. My family doc has been trying to keep me somewhat comfortable and don't know how long that will last. Walgreens pharmacy accuse me of doctor and pill shopping right in the beginning. Been dealing with them for about 9 years same place. I fucking went off on the ass hole. I told the fucker if he thought I was doing so to hang up the phone and call the cops on me as he had my address but told him he better look at my account and see just what I have been doing all these years. Then asked him why I was buying the meds. He told me he had no clue as to why. I by then had multiple CTs and MRIs of every thing. My next trip to town I stop by and shoved these reports up his ass. Just figure of speech but he got the point.

The pain is not just my back but my entire abdomen and chest. I am dropping everything I put in my hands and left leg gives out on me just when ever. I was coughing up quite a bit of blood in the begining and my doctor said he was suprised that I was not coghing up more then I was. About once a day sometimes more I have what feels like 50 or so marbles just under the skin on my back and they run all around just under the skin real fast and last for some time. With all the other things going on with my health, four large aneurysms, complete blockage to the large intestines, trashed out abdominal aorta and I go into thermal shock frequently and the list can go on. I go places and don't know how to get back or why I went there in the first place. My GPS is my best friend when I go out or use to be. All these things have been going on for about three years. I use to weigh in at 188 and now at 140. I go to sleep at random times. Not tired and I need a rest, I mean I am going to sleep and I better be ready. I can hear everything going on around me but can not get my self up. Can go on for a few minutes or a few hours. Have dealt with cancer three times in the last 3 years. My spine was already fucked up before I fell. It had a 90 degree rotation where I hurt my spine and then did a double 90 degree turn just as it goes to the c spine. Other then just wait on the aneurysms to burst and my large intestines to shut down they do nothing and don't know why the other things are happing. I have called another Orthopedic surgeon to see if he will see me. If I can get one more doctor tell me the same thing as the nero surgeon I would feel better about what he said. Feel better as the first doctor was right and not being a prick. The wife and I have the best medical insurance money can buy. Wife is a USDA safety food inspector.

I know and it shows that this has been hard on the wife. She works 2 weeks 8 a day and then 2 weeks 12 or more a day and some Sat and Sun. She has to take me to all my appointments, some are 3 or 4 hours away. I have always kept her going, now she has to keep both of us going. Some days she just stays home and says something is telling her not to go. A lot of days I want her to stay but don't say anything. She has all the time she needs off at a moment notice. I know this sounds really fucked up but this is just part of it. Yes I have gave it a lot of thought and still do so bout fixing this my way. Am I better since the fall? Yes somewhat, I can now dress myself, I can now get in and out of bed and I do a few things after the wife goes to work then try and hide the fact that I was the one that did it and some things I have no choice but to do and pay the price just after.

    Thanks.

Hope to keep hearing updates. Cronic pain is a muther fucker! Keep posting as you do feel up to it. I know I can't even come close to what you are going through, but I do know about pain to a small degree.

Please feel free to vent all you like. No one can judge you and fuck 'em if they do.

I hope to be weening myself off the Norco this week. I found out just a few minutes ago that I get my knee swapped out at 5:30 am tomorrow. I hate having to schedule the day around the drugs, pain, weather...you know what I'm talking about.

As I said, go ahead and write like a mad man. Just putting thought to paper may buy you a few minutes of not thinking about the hurt. Anything has got to help.

    Later

Somatropin (HGH) might help things start getting better slowly. A lot of pple report reduced back pain with this drug. If you have compressed discs you need to start decompresing them very gently and slowy.

This was my thoughts as well.

you can eat it instead of smke it so you don't cough and hurt yourself.

Ask a doctor you trust what they think about it.

The problem with weed is it does not act the same for all ppl, then the bundreds of strains come into play also. Sativas, indicas and hybrids..For some ppl weed intensifies pain. It is in no way a simple pain killer. Less thc and high cbd is the method for pain whereas the typical stoner that has a back ache not comparable to the OP's situation just looks for reasons to say weed is the cure all..

Lmao, not to keep stirring this thin ice topic. But intensifies pain? Not in a lifetime.
The only negative side effects one could incur is coughing, a bad trip, maybe a headache and that's about it. There are plethora of strains that have different effects on different individuals but I've never heard of it intensifying pain. That's ludicrous.

Whats ludicrous is your clearly uneducated statement. Im sure in Texas where weed is illegal you know all about its clinical uses, benefits and downfalls. Its all a matter of the strain and the medicinal content.

As we all know opinions are like assholes...

This topic should be put to bed from this thread either way. The OP has a serious issue he is trying to get out and relieve some frustration.
