It's always a trade off somewhere. Nitrous also cools the intake air, so you don't have the huge heat issue a turbo causes. I've always been a fan of superchargers, but those are an expensive option.
Back to topic. A few items on the parts list concern me:
    AIR FLOW METER CUSTOM PART
    2 X RESISTORS
(Please don't tell me they are messing with the MAF by inserting resistors)
MINI POD FILTER FOR ROCKER COVER BREATHER
(Am I to assume the EGR valve won't work on a pressurized intake, so they are just dropping a filter on it?)
FUEL REGULATOR & BLOCK OFF PLATE
(Is this system also controlling the fuel flow? At this point you really should have a custom ECU program)

I also think there needs to be some kind of tune. I spoke to one of the guys that have the electric supercharger by Phantom and they have a tune. For those who don't know about ESC by phantom...they are popular in the miata and FT86 forums. I love to see that on a Tacoma, but never got a reply from them for this platform. I'm not too concern about chinese turbos if they are from good company...though prefer a brand company like Garrett. Doesn't seem to be optimized without an ECU tune...but what do I know. Would like to see some dyno numbers.

Ozboost has put it In the Tacoma. And they said it was a good fit. All bolt on.

I'm not 100% sure what they do. But the kit works

I think you could get some ecu stuff through URD and other electronics to make the turbo run safe. And I will get some dyno numbers

A turbo would be cool. But honestly, never heard of such a cheap turbo. Granted I've not done a lot of research either.

I'm bothered by the fact that all the OP's posts seem like an advertisement while everyone else seems to be suggesting caution.

Careful what you put on your truck.

If I wasn't careful I would build a turbo manifold then do everything myself. Not a lot of people know about this company over here in the US. I'm not gonna slap some turbo on my truck and have no idea what I'm doing. The thing Is that no one who has commented on this has first hand experience with this kit.

I'd love to see some 2tr guys boost. The price is right for a Chinese internal wastegate turbo and bov. It's how mine is set up but I'm running fuel management and an intercooler to do 8-9psi. 5psi is boring within a few weeks. The motor can keep up with the low boost if you move your fuel regulator hose from the throttle body to the intake manifold. It doesn't feel that great until you start tuning to really clean up the afr. Looks like a knock off gt2871 turbo they are using which should be fun. I can't talk anything on the Chinese turbo. Been running mine for almost a year 10k miles. They work but they aren't great.

I like the downpipe, header and turbo inlet pipe

I talked with ozboost it's a Chinese t28 with oil cooling and also water cooled. The ones I see on eBay are just oil. I will be getting this kit in a few weeks weather the group buy works or not. I love the turbo mani and down pipe it's really clean set up.

If it helps a turbonetics is going in after smog this year now that I'm happy with my set-up. EBay turbo is too laggy, but great if you are making your own headers and downpipe.

Excited to see your build. You should get 250whp with that turbo, can always upgrade when you want to run more boost.

8 PSI seems pretty mild to me for turbo... coworker upgraded his S4 to chinese turbos and I haven't heard of complaints...but it's anecdotal. Summit556...any chance you are in SoCal? Like to see the setup and performance....perhaps a good install place.

Any more information about this CARB certification for the Taco?

Unfortunately no carb man. Wouldn't ever happen for a toyota. I take mine off every 2 years to stock out. I made mine pnp. Ya I'm still considered low boost when you compare to the Chinese turbos that are pushing 26psi on an evo, subi and speed.

I'm in Washington :( I will be getting the kit in a few weeks and will do a complete write up.

I thought you when you said "If it helps a turbonetics is going in after smog this year now" that turbonetics is getting a smog certified kit. I see you have a 5 lug... is your truck 2wd? You know anyone who can do install and perhaps a tune? I like a PNP setup for same reasons.

Looking forward to it. Thanks for posting.

I'm gonna run low boost for a few weeks then start to do electronics and fuel pump to pump at least 8-9psi of boost

OP I would suggest doing a write up and review then try the group buy again. I simply can't afford it right now. However I'm sure there are people that would be willing to spend the cash they are just skeptical. This is pretty much what happened with the Crawford Performance Eco block. Once there were some review they went crazy and everyone got one.

Yea that's what I'm going to do. But I won't be able to buy the kit for another 2 weeks. It will be worth it that's for sure!
