99% of my driving is in the city. The range is usually 250 miles before the fuel light is on.

x2. my commute is low speed 6 miles and takes about 25-40 mins depending on traffic, time of day, weather, and which stupid people are on the road at that time :)

I will say a recent trip to mid-WV (Clarksburg) going down I-79 and back yielded a 19.8 mpg run. and that's with some hills and a few spirited shifts running 65-80mph :D

is there any truth to the idea the timing belt has stretched enough to affect mpg?

im just having a hard time thinking the belt has that much stretch to it that the fact it hasn't been replaced is hurting my mpg

if you never replace it then after a while it would just break. it's more like a tire than a rubber band. Toyota just uses CYA techniques to make sure it's in top shape.

if you ran it empty that would be ~14 mpg. if you ran it until E/light on then that's ~16 mpg (within normal)

Thread was from 2015. Zombies! :laser:

You'll do yourself a favor accuracy wise if you'll calculate real MPG vs guessing at miles per tank.
