^^^welcome! We are all hoping that trails open up pretty soon so that've can got out there too. Your reasoning with the tires is logical but the only thing you may want to think about is that you could probably sell them (not on here) for a lot more money while they are still fresh. But we would love to have you, no matter what tires you are running. You already found the thread to follow, just jump in when you can.

    Craigslist all day long...
I sold my wheels and tires to a guy on craigs for $600 with ~6k miles on them. I put them on his first gen tacoma and he didn't know what to do with his old wheels and tires so he left them with me.
I painted them up and put them right back on craigslist and got another $300 for them.
Then I found a set of wheels with the right backspacing on craigs for $140 and put the rest into new 285s.

Life's too short to run the rugged fails.

Thanks for the tips guys. Unfortunately my rugged fails have about 20k miles on them (my truck is a '13) so I don't know how desirable they are with approximately 50% tread left. Also if I sold them my truck would be sitting on blocks cause I have nothing to replace them with. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet some of you all soon. No one I know is interested in off-roading and I know that I shouldn't be going alone so right now I'm kinda stuck.

Are you planning on installing a lift in the near future? I would wait until then to get new tires. Or just do what I did and roll with stock size tires for a year after installing a lift :anonymous:

I do plan on installing a lift based around 5100s but that probably won't be until around tax time next year. Just had a newborn daughter on 5/30 so truck upgrades will be slow coming for a bit.

So... I just found out that I'm scheduled to work the next three weeks straight with no time off. I won't make the Toyota meet at red rocks. Maybe the next meet I hope. Have fun Gents!

I always run Twin Cone, and usually run it with people that have never wheeled before. I know there was a new guy that wanted to do a trail, and it's a good one.
