No problem. honestly I rarely take it out of drive while mudding. With traction control off you can keep your tires spinning and the auto has its faults but it'll usually keep you in higher rpms and lower gears when doing that.

Your biggest concern will be getting high centered in a rut, your transmission won't cause or inhibit you there, just tire size.

How exactly was Rock Lobster a dick to OP? I think in this case you have it all wrong.

One can never have too many light bars.
I believe the term you're looking for is manumatic which is a generic term. Tiptronic is VW's name for it hence it being in Porsches, Audis and Lamborghinis. Toyota's name for it is 'Electronically Controlled Transmission." Tacomas don't have this feature although you can always just shift it manually(I doubt it's good for your gears). 4Runners have it as well as the V6 Tundras.

he answered your questions just fine. You're just looking for someone to tell you an auto is great for mudding. You also thought you had a tiptronic transmission. He corrected you on that, and you'll be fine with an auto, just don't over do it.

Traction Control was considered mandatory for any car made in or after 2009 so probably not. My 05 frontier didn't have any TC system but the 2009's did.

Idk why people are saying some don't. I have a 10 and its down by the fog lights button and such. It has a car and tread marks. At a stand still you hold it roughly 5 seconds I think and its off til you turn the truck off or press the button again. It could have another name but that does it regardless.

An auto is no disadvantage in mud, probably an advantage at least 95% of the time offroad. The only situation I've found a manual better for is creeping downhill very slowly in 4Low. 1st gear in autos isn't geared as low as with manuals and there are situations where I want to go downhill at 1-2 mph without touching the brakes. Most manuals will do it, most auto's won't keep you under about 5 mph or even a bit faster.

My 07 does not have traction control
