No worries Ninja 89. I have over 100 miles on my SC. No fire yet. With that said....buy the most awesome fire extinguisher Amazon sells!

    What haven’t I changed?
I was on the fence for the past few days about getting a S/C. I was on the verge of coming to peace with not getting one until I started dreaming about it last night. Took it as a sign that I should just get one and placed the order this morning. Probably get a URD stealth pulley in about a year or so too.

I'd like to see who blew their engine up with a URD charger

I’m in the same boat, sort of, I wanted to go TRD boosted because it’s an easy plug and play install. But after reading that 309hp the TRD blower puts out is only at the crank I was unhappy to hear. I’m saving my money and waiting for URD to get their shit together so I can buy their Supercharger. URD with a stage 3 kit is 420-450 RWHP for the same cost as a TRD Supercharger 309 hp (at the crank)…I’m waiting for URD I suggest you do the same

Too be fair he was at the track, it’s safe to say he was really kicking the tar out of his truck (13.7 pass).

I talked to Gadget a couple weeks back, and he said with a Stage 3 kit you can’t “drive it like a teenager” because you will cause premature wear on your engine. I do plan on going at least Stage 2 but I wouldn’t be going to the track with my truck

I do appreciate the link Rock Lobster If anymore crop but I'd like to know about it...I do agree with the whole ricer excuses URD should have solved the 5 to 6 plug UCON issue years ago

So I guess with a 2nd Gen Tacoma you have a choice when going Supercharged with a stock motor, either underpowered (TRD Supercharged) or Overpowered on the brink of blowing up your motor on track days (URD Supercharged) The choice is yours haha

TRD supercharger doesn't turn your truck into a racing vehicle, but gives it the power it should have had in the first place. Also, if you have bigger and heavier tires than stock, the SC offsets the power loss a bit. The increase in low end torque is significant. Worth $5,000....? No.. Probably only worth $3,000 IMO. There is some added value because they are a TRD product that Toyota backs. Overall I've had a great experience with the SC and am pleased with the performance gains. Now that they are discontinuing them, I'm glad I have have one. I'd say get yours before they're gone...
