^ I see that you have a P30 also. Do you like the VP9 better?

Even as invested as I am in the Glock platform, I'm considering a change to multiple P30/P30L's or VP9's.

It's actually the HK45 not the P30. I like them both a lot and it would be tough to choose between the two. I like the HK45 with the safety so I can have it loaded and cocked and with the safety on but a quick switch with the thumb and it's ready to go.

Anybody else have an excel sheet with all of your weapon information in it ? I have been keeping one for a while now on all of my firearms and all of my grandparents and today it paid off. Druggy uncle caused my grandpas firearms to be seized and while waiting for the investigation to be over the PD "lost" some of the more expensive ones and claimed they must have been pawned before they seized them. Quick print off of my excel sheet and somehow they were "found" within the next couple of days. Brand, Model, Caliber, Purchase Date, Purchased From, Price and then notes are the labels I use. I also keep all my scopes/attachments listed on there as well.

I keep a similar list of my toys. I would have preferred keeping it in some sort of database with pictures but haven't found a gun safe/inventory app that suits my needs (wants).

Funny thing is I was just talking to my uncle about an app like this, he develops apps across all platforms. Anything else that you guys could think of that you would like to see in an app along the lines of keep tracking of weapon inventories so to speak ?

*Please be realistic with ideas lol

    going to be fun!
If this helps here is what I did..

    1. Created a spreadsheet with either estimated replacement based on Blue book for condition value or actual receipt scanned and applied to each gun.
    2. I then bought a external hard drive.
    3. Then I photographed every gun and serial number for proof condition and proof of gun serial number.
    4. Downloaded them all to the external hard drive.
    5. Then made another back up to a jump drive.
    6. Have both stored in a safe deposit box.

My home owners policy requires me to have each gun listed that is valued at $500 or more since I have a rider on my policy($183 a year) for $50,000 over the maximum policy coverage of $5,000 cost me about $80 bucks for everything.

I'm sure there are likely other useful pieces of information to keep but this is what comes to mind at the moment.

There are already a few apps out there in varying states. Might be worth checking out those for ideas too.

MygunDB is another option but i dont think it is mobile.

    As for me...

I keep a spreadsheet, picture of gun, picture of receipt (if applicable), and a short "info" document.

The spreadsheet is basic. Page 1 lists Gun, Caliber, Serial Number, Purchase Date, Purchase Price, Purchased From, Accesories?, Sold Date.

Under the accessories colume i either put No or if a simple thing (liek threaded barrel) i list that plus the price. For things with lots of accesories they go to page 2.

Page 2 i list any gun with multiple accessories and also each of my AR uppers and Lowers. The uppers and lowers i list out the parts and prices of each. For other guns i list the scope and mount system and price.

Besides the excel i have a folder setup and inside it is the excel sheet, info sheet and then folders for gun pics and nfa items. Nfa items has copies of each tax stamp. The gun pics folder has each gun in its own folder with scanned copy of receipt and picture of the gun.

The info sheet i have also explains a few things such as a couple guns being on my C&R and about my NFA items and some contacts to help in case something happens to me.

THe spreadsheet and info page i printed out. Then everything else i put on a flash drive. All that went in an envelope and into a safety deposit box of my parents. That way if something happened to me they would know what to do and how much stuff is worth. I also keep a copy of the folder on my laptop and my home server

Anyone with a decent collection needs to ensure they're covered for loss. Coverage for firearms is usually very weak. My last home insurance provider covered a max of $1500 for firearm loss.

All the suggestions above for an app, though I'd also add round count. Some people like to track that.
If you wanted to go even further into it you could add reload data, different guns like different loads.
