I had the same problem... A little silicon lubricant, a little prying, and a little wedging worked for me.

Hey Rattletrap66, I painted mine with black epoxy following the recommendations of bullaculla's build thread. Have you noticed anything without the paint???

Hey, thanks guys for pointing toward this plug relocater. I might have to get a new plug, too. It is smashed bad enough to bend the cover flap.

little bit of towing. Dakars compared to oem is a huge difference.

Forgive my noobyness. But are dakars lift leaf aprings or just better for towing or are they just a better stock style leaf?

Lift springs, but they are also stiffer so don't succumb to the weight of towing so poorly.

Yeah, my guess would be that OP was using an AAL with his lift which would suck for towing and finally switched out to the Dakars...

Did I miss the AAL mention? Seems like he went from regular OEM leafs and sagging ass while towing to Dakars, which are stiffer and more suited to hauling and towing.

Not sure why an AAL makes towing suck? Please explain.

No, but it looks like he has a lift on his rig, so if he lifted without doing anything to the rear end it would be odd...And Dakars with no lift and only towing a ten trailer...? That would cause some serious muscle car rake.

NVM, thought his post was about switching to Dakars. Comparing towing stock to lifted with Dakars. I can't read today.
