Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.

Agreed, there were at least a dozen trucks there and everyone was brainstorming a way out. As far as I could see there was no way around needing a new lca. I don't think anyone left until he had everything he needed and was in another truck. That said I could have/ should have followed up though and I didn't.

I dropped white knuckle on behind the rocks trail and finished it and the long as drive back to camp with a broken Rack and pinion strap so it can be done. all you guys had to do was chain the broken side to the frame. I carry a short piece of chain in the truck at all times since that steering failure.

Edit: or if we wanted to get fancy with it we could have used my twin red top's and got welding gear from camp and welded it back together. or just drove the tow pig up to him and used the welder :D

Yup. I have a 150 amp Ford Large case alternator in place of my A/C compressor. (I don't wheel moab in summer).

Helps prevent the winch from draining the battery and doubles as a weldernator.
Just need to switch this isolator over, plug in the leads and strike an arc.

Goggles have a shade 11 lens. Watch out for the UV burn.

This setup runs 3/32" 7018 pretty sweet.

But I was incommunicado all week. No signal from AT&T out at BFE and most of the trails I ran. Had no idea what was going down.

Check the posts in the other thread around 2 or 3 pm. We tried to help best we could and would have been more than accommodating but no one knew an update on the situation. We sat and had beers at the blue pig bbq next to the LA Quinta and checked regularly for an update still heard nothing til the whine and cheese party just the other day

Ahh didn't know you were there... considering you and Lauren came up and got me off a trail, when you guys weren't even wheeling that weekend, says a lot...

fact is, shit happens on the trail... you break it's not SOMEONE ELSES responsibility to help... there's some personal responsibility that comes into play... besides, you had help... it got solved... what would have all 120+ people at RT done if we ALL responded? how would that have changed anything?

I do think people should choose who they wheel with, or rather make sure you have at least 1-2 people you KNOW you can count on if you're going into unknown/tough territory. but in the end... IMHO it's not THEIR responsibility to get me out if I'm broke down/stuck... it's mine.
