    That's normal radio distance, it's whether or not you can transmit that or not. I was listening to weatherman relay the Baja 1000 from Blowsand in Ocotillo Wells.

    Make sure you have direct power from the battery and of course a good ground.

    I'm straight off the battery post. Seems to be a dirty connection because it powers up but once you try to transmit it dims out like you have a low battery. 10 minute fix hopefully.

    How much amperage does it pull when you transmit ? Maybe you need a larger gauge wire run to the battery ?

    I had that problem its not getting enough power to transmit! I just connected it directly to the battery on a 10 gauge wire it works like a champ now the first problem I had was it was going through accesoryies on a fuse splitter not getting enough power then I found out I needed a bigger wire then 18 haha once I gave it a 10 gauge to the battery on a switch that thing works like a charm

    Im TripleThreat, this trail meet will be at in the Badlands near Ocotillo wells we will also do some washs bring your camera and lets tear some shit up!

    Most of it is two wheel drive friendly we have tow straps and recovery gear if you get stuck please bring your own recovery gear, water, and food (use common sense what to bring to the desert incase something happens)

    (We will leave from the station to hit the canyons and trails/washes)

    We're good. Just put a new negative eyelet on and back to working. Nice when it's an easy fix.

    You guys that take the 78 out through Julian what the last main gas station to top off at?
