BFG A/T vs. Terra Grappler

    Want to hear from guys that have had both, or their experiences with the Terra Grappler on these trucks in rain/snow/sleet/etc. The TG's are about half the price of the BFG's, and I think I could stand to save a few bucks right now. BFG's came out on top of the Duratrac's to me, and I just want to see if they are really superior to the TG's.

    i'd get the bfg's before the terra grappler. they seem to have a more aggressive tread and handle better than the terra's in the snow and rain.

    My experiance with the BFg's and the Nittos back to back showed the Nittos have more grip every where. Even in snow. I have run the Nittos on 4 trucks, and they have worn very well. The BFG's are stronger against sidewall damage due to the 3 ply side wall, but the Nittos ride better on the street. Some people seem to have issues with the Nittos in the past, Oakley, and Jonneconn, But after looking into it, it seems to be isolated issues, and could have been a bad batch of tires. I will continue to run the Nittos as I have been increadibly pleased with them.

    chris is right on many points, the nittos are definitely more quiet on the road. bfg's do have a stronger sidewall. ive heard good things about both tires.

    IMO, BFG A/T are great tires for me and my Tacoma. The threads are great, I have my tires rotated every 6k, PSI at 32, the high noise is not too bad. I would go with the BFG.

    My Nittos haven't worn for shit so i'm going w/ BFG this time around...I've got 28,000 on em and there slicks :mad:

    Yeah...I meant to put you down too....Still puzzeled as to why they wore like that. Never had that happen to my TG's, and I put them thru the paces pretty good.
    I have run 6 sets total, on 4 different trucks ranging in weight from 3400 lbs, to 7100 lbs.....with no issues.

    I've had the BFG A/T's on my past two vehicles and loved them. If I can lower the cost to about half by getting the TG's then I would like to do that. Chris, thanks for the info...it seems to be hit or miss with the Terra Grapplers for the guys that have them. I'm in NY so the snow/sleet/rain/ice is a must.

    I sent an e-mail to nitto regarding the issues I have heard from Oakley, and Jonneconn (didnt know about your Scott at the time), but havent heard back yet.....Perhaps I will send another.

    I'm at about 13k miles on mine now, they are in great shape! They have held up well to minor offroading/rocks. They handle fantastic on the street, wet or dry. They are great for soft sand. I have no noticable tread wear or damage, very little road noise and no complaints. I'm sticking with them for my next set also.

    BFG AT's, I have had several sets, they are great tires. Maybe the TG's have only isolated issues, but I have never heard of anyone having issues the BFG's.

    Every set I have seen on other trucks look as your does. :) They wear nice. Ames out here has 20k moles on his, and has 10/32 tread left still.
