    What haven’t I changed?
This basically sums up my thoughts. I'm not looking to turn it into a race truck or trying to get every ounce of power out of the engine. I do have larger and heavier tires, so the power boost would help when going over mountain passes. I know that regearing would be a better choice (and cheaper), but I do plan on increasing my tire size again to 35's eventually, and that's when I'll regear. I'm also not very mechanically inclined under the hood and being able to bring it to a Toyota dealer if there are problems is a big plus for me.

    Lots baby!
Since I have had my X-Runner, most of the engines I have seen that were "blown-up" were engines approaching 400 HP and had not internal modifications (i.e. forged rods, crank etc.). This is the reason I stopped at 350 HP.

The URD S/C makes more power than the TRD. You either need to limit your boost to something reasonable or plan on some forged internals.

There are another group of X-Runners that have blown up due to oiling concerns as X-Runners have a crappy oil pan design. I have made an oil pan spacer to help this issue and I have also made a custom oil pan for a few people. These oiling concerns only deal with X-Runners.

Oil Pan Spacer with extended pick up.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that TRD superchargers are made by Magnuson. I'm willing to bet that with TRD no longer supporting the program we will see the TRD supercharger come back as an aftermarket unit. Just my thought tho.

Extremely important item so as to not blow up your motor. Nice. Hats off to you Coupe.

You didnt answer the question, is the TRD unit built by Magnuson or TRD? I'm well aware what blower is utilized.

Well I already knew the answer. Magnuson has long been the producer and designer of TRD units which is in part why we have always seen older and proven reliable Eaton blowers in TRD kits. I may have already contacted Magnuson regarding the discontinuation of the TRD program :spy:

You are correct tho in what "TRD" is as strictly an engineering firm but they are not engineering parts or components for our street driven vehicles. Toyota Racing is consumed by Nascar and building high performance motors for other aspects of motorsports and has been for a decade. It is simply a brand at this point and the majority of TRD labeled parts are outsourced for example the TRD exhaust and intake for a 2nd Gen Tacoma are AFE products with a heftier price tag and a cool logo.

I think no one had answered my questioned lol ... Is it woth getting TRD S/c since it getting discontinued? Or just save up for a URD s/c (and home it won't blow the motor up) lol

It’s my impression that Stage 3 makes the boost that could destroy the motor. Stage 1(Base/Core) is like a better performing TRD S/C and Stage 2 is just a high flowing exhaust with a smaller pulley. Stage 3 is a 7th injector and the extremely small pulley. I’m waiting for URD and I will go to at least Stage 2. If I do go Stage 3 I will make sure not to track my truck or beat the hell out of it.

I remember seeing one on civic at the Eibach Honda meet years ago. I pointed and laughed so hard the owner jumped in his car and peel out of the parking lot. Yes I know it was wrong :D
