So people who go through water without relocating their diff breather are potentially screwed?

For the idiots that drive around you, it's for safety, some people are really oblivious to their surroundings when driving I van tell you how many times I wanted one after getting cut off or darn near run off the road! It's on my list of must haves. I never use my horn unless needed!

    Yes.
My understanding is the second gen has a valve, not just an opening on the rear Diff. Is that wrong?

Correct but it has an inherent design flaw that will still allow water to get in. The mod costs about $10 versus the price of a new third. Do it.

    Whole lotta stuff
So many blacked out badges I'm beginning to think I'm the only one who doesn't mind the chrome badges. Bout the only place I prefer chrome. Haha.
Bought the OME parts used, I assume? OME is such a nice setup! Where are those UCAs from?

    Yes.
The OME Shocks, and the 886 springs (installed) were used.
The Complete leaf springs are nearly new (less than 5k miles)

New Parts are: OME 885 springs. 2" Wheeler's Offroad AAL (wrapped in foam). And Light Racing UCAs.
