Wyoming B.S. Thread

Oh ok, I know his build. He has an amazing first gen. Kinda makes me wish I had gotten a first gen at times. I'll have to check out some of the stuff in the Big Horns. I picked up a few BLM maps, so hopefully I can find a few good forest service roads off of those.

 

If you stop by Lovell, we have some free Forest Service maps for all the off highway roads in the forest - marked by type and such. Stop either at the Bighorn Nat Forest ranger station in Lovell or the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area office and ask.

 

Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely have to stop by and get a map or two. How's the camping out there? Can pretty much put up a tent wherever you want?

 

In a national forest anywhere, you can camp anywhere as long as you're 1/2 mile off the road, unless otherwise posted (i.e. a campground). Of course, this usually means you can't drive to your site, but then again no one is going to be really legalistic about being 1/2 mile off. There's lots of different dirt "pull outs" for where people have put RVs, so you could just find one of those and camp. Easy.

 

Perfect! That's what I figured, I'm just a little weary because sometimes forest service is stingy about that kind of stuff in Colorado. Thanks for all of the advice!

 

Of course! Wyoming doesn't have nearly as many people (roughly 600k total pop for the ENTIRE state) so things are much more easy going. The National Recreation Area i mentioned is pretty nice as well and is a bit of a hidden secret in the area, in my opinion. Free free to shout if I or we can help with anything!

Thanks for all of the help guys. I think I'm gonna go camp out in the Bear Tooth mountains tomorrow night and hopefully get in a little wheeling. I'll look out for your rig Frank. If you see a goofy looking guy in a black Tacoma waving at you, it's probably me.

 

I'm extremely hard to miss when I drive Frank. FRV too for that matter.
