Every car or truck has a Rev limiter unless you take it off but it's an fda requirement or whatever and if your on it for a minute it's fine but wouldn't push it too often or hit it there is no need to get rpms that high

Must not be doing it right then do you turn off your Trac control before trying donuts it will help alot and wouldn't need to hit it just shift into second at about 6k rpm and you'll be in 3k range and can keep them going:burnrubber:

"Back in the day" floating valves served as a rev limiter unless you built your own motor. :) Ive always wondered if the same thing happens to these new motors or if they just wind up until the torque falls off.

I believe so you said rev limiter I say red line during donut and shift to second keeps you at about 3k rpms and your donuts going

The rev limiter keeps you from screwing up. You'll know when you hit it. It will not rev any higher no matter how hard you floor it. This is nothing new been around for decades.
